I've got all the supplies I need, but I have a feeling that the first few should be small & that they are likely to be ugly.

So, I found this online. It sounds really neat. If you have quilting & sewing projects that have gone bad, this sounds like a good way to put them to good use. Or perhaps if Aunt Edna gave you some OOOOOOOOOoooogly fabric from her bin, you might be able to use it for this. So, I think my first few crazy quilts will be snuggles for my local animal shelters. I'll use up some of that scary fabric that just is not pretty that seemed like a "good idea at the time" or that well meaning people gave me.

The website includes patterns you can use for it as well.

I'm moving soon. Undertaking a HUGE dorm-room decoration project. So far, the FAQs and my knowledge of simple sewing has got me covered... but I'd like yr advice on one thing:

Apothecary Jars.

I picked up several empty small and medium-sized jars of varying shapes and sizes at a place I got a gift-card for during the Christmas season. I've no idea what to fill them with. Most of them are small-mouthed and wouldn't be able to fit large stones or marbles (which I think is over-done anyway), and I also don't want to go with sand-art. My room's sort of going to have a far-East theme (tulle bed curtains, hanging lamps, silk throw-pillows, fabric-covered walls, etc.) so I'd love it if the jars ended up fitting in. They're just going to be sitting on a desk or dresser-top, I think... Anyway, I was just wondering what you guys would suggest?

If you use fabric paint, is there still a need for textile medium? My common sense would tell me no, but I wondered if anyone still did both. I understand that textile medium is needed if you're mixing it w/ plain acrylic paint... That seems like the cheapest way to go, especially since I already have tons of acrylic laying around, I can just buy some textile medium to make it shirt-ready. Umm I had some more questions but I just had a brain fart, I'm sure they will resurface later once I get going. (so far all I have done was spray paint an anti-capitalism stencil I made onto some boxes to test it)

For all those of you who are always looking to stockpile DMC floss for your stitching projects (I can't be the only one out there, can I?), AC Moore is having a sale this week for 8 skeins for $1. Take a look at the ad, and then go poke around the store locator to find a store near you.

Enjoy!

I know you all have heard this before, But my Boyfriend's Birthday is coming-up (not til March 28th, but i like to be prepared) And i would like to get him something really special; We've been together for about a year and a half, and he'll be 16 in march. i'm to young to work, so something that requires a huge amount of money isn't possiable for me right now. And i'd love to make something to do with pictures, but i don't have a ton of pictures of me & him, i have a digital camera so i could take them, but he's not really big on getting his picture taken, if you can help it'd be great.

p.s.- he plays bass, && loves the cure & Lacuna Coil.

So, last night while I was bored, I made two pillows and a purse.
They're not great but I'm proud of them!

I was watching Decorating Cents last night on HGTV and saw this really cute idea on how to make a shower curtain from towels. Here is the link for the show:

Since the new year is all about resolutions- I want to know what some of your crafty resolutions are.

Mine are to learn how to knit and to perfect my stenciling abilities.

What about yours?

scarves i've made. i've been selling them. just wondering about prices does $10 seem to be okay for the ones with flowers and $8 for the customizable scarfs with words? cause they're not TOO hard to make, yet they do take time. yadda yadda. fleece and felt. freehand. :)

p.s. what do you think of 'ribbon' belts? or bracelets in this case.

Projects completed today while I sat in on the rehearsal for the play that my sister and boyfriend are in. + + + )

These are both going to be for sale whenever I get my store up which will hopefully be soon. Perhaps I'll make it a New Years resolution, though I swear I'm not procrastinating. I have to do SOMETHING with all of these scarves & hats and things that are piling up in my room.

Thanks for checking these out, guys!

So a couple months back, somebody posted a really cool tie cuff that they had seen off of Urban Outfitter's (?) website. I decided to duplicate it.

Sorry that the picture clarity is so bad...my hands are kind of shaky. :/

But it's a really easy project, and it looks pretty cute. I used a thrift store tie. If you  need directions, let me know, and I'll edit and post some. <3
