Here's a peyote stitch lippy holder I threw together a few months ago. It's supposed to be a white background with irridescent blue flames - kinda hard to tell from the photo:

I used a Strongbad stencil and painted a plain white tanktop. I like the way it came out but I plan to fill it all in once the paint is dry.

wanna see? )

remember that project for my ceiling? well, me and my boyfriend Jeff finally got around to doing it!! he put up most all of the records on the ceiling and I was making sure we were following the pattern right and handing him records and covers.
We decided to use Jeff's layout since it was interesting and he convinced me to use his layout. I think it ended up looking nice ^___^

Ok, I've been trying to find the answer everywhere (FAQ, sites, google, blah) and have had no success- which leads me to believe that it's obvious somehow? I don't know. Anyway:

How do you change colors in knitting?

Well.. I've been lurking here forever now, so I thought i might post somthing. I've been doing the crafty thing for years now, and I am clueless as to why I never posted any of it here. So.. um...

I have a good deal of helium ballons about my place and I don't want to through them away. For the delated ones I have now, I just fold them up and keep them in a scrapook of sorts. But I'm running out of pages and I am looking for something creative I can do with them.

I was thinking that I would somehow be able to "shrink" them like the "kits?" I used to play with when I was younger. I don't remember too much about it but I remember it did require the use of an oven..

Ultimately, If I were able to shrink these as well, I would like to display them in a simple glass jar. Is this idea achievable or are there other ways to preserve my balloons?

I haven't done anything crafty in years, so I'm looking to get back into it. Thank you.

Does anyone know anything about using a drop spindle? The yarn I am spinning is turning out to be what looks like over twisted. How do I combat this? My next question is: do you HAVE to make it 2 ply afterwards? It's already pretty thick, and I don't really want it SUPER BULKY. Any info or links would be so helpful.

[identity profile] susulicious.livejournal.com
any ideas how to make an earring holder like this for cheap?
[identity profile] orora25.livejournal.com
This is the one I started in the class. It's knitted in a 4 x 2 rib pattern with a garter stitch border on the ends. The yarn is Lorna's Laces Sheperd Bulky in the Aslan multi colors. It still needs to be blocked. It's about 60" long & 8" wide.

In response to the whole 'searching for paris hilton stencils' thing, i whipped these up. I thought an 'I <3 Paris' tote might be cute.

So I got a serger for my birthday and went nuts testing it out tonight. I made an urban comando hoodie for my pooch in the cold weather. Voila!

I have some iron on transfer paper for dark shirts, the instructions say not to flip the image. But what if there's text on it? Does anyone know if I should flip it or not? I'd follow the directions, but I don't want to waste a sheet if I do have to flip it. It's the Avery kind by the way. Thanks.

I just got a bunch of jewelry supplies from a friend of mine who was cleaning out some stuff. There's a really pretty faceted loose stone that I want to make into a ring for myself.

I googled it, looking for sterling silver ring mounts/settings and so far I've only found one possibility.

Does anyone know of any good jewelry supply places that carry this?
I'd prefer silver, but I can go with gold if I have to.

Help!

Hey, do ya'll think this would make a good stencil? Anyone else have any better pictures?

stencil? )

My knitting looks like what I think is called garter stitch. I want it to look like this: http://www.prismportal.com/heirloomhandknits/products/slippers-ss-5a.jpg

What am I doing wrong, and how can I change it to make it look like that?

I mean, I might as well just crochet if I want it to look like it does.
[identity profile] netofjewels.livejournal.com
I just posted some Paris Hilton stencils and have since whipped up a tote bag.

check it out )

For those of you as depraved as I, here are my teeth. They managed to get them out whole! yay. I plan on cleaning them off with toothpaste or listerine when I feel up to it. Any suggestions on how I should do the necklace? I could do hemp, I could do black suede or I could do fishing line.

As always, comments are appreciated, even the ones who think I'm a lunatic because that makes me smile :)
