I just recently bought some chinese brocade at Joann's on sale for $6.99 a yd, but I was wondering if people had found this fabric cheaper anywhere else online or maybe in chinatown? (I'm near SF so a trip up wouldn't be so bad)

believe me, i'm kicking myself for not buying a ton of this fabric the couple times I went over to China with my family...

I have about 12 mouse pads that I spraypainted black (cuz I think it’s a kick-butt color for backgrounds), but now, I don’t know what to do with them. Any ideas? I have TWELVE to play with, and it kills me cuz I’ve completely come to a brain fart. (NOTE: I’m not hell-bent on keeping them as mousepads.) but it’s the kind of pad that has the plastic on the top and foam on the bottom. Thanx :)

So my dad used to own a music store. Last night when I was cleaning out his basement, I found a box of I love Napster stickers (from years ago). I think he ordered 10,000 and we might've sold a hundred of them. I can't bring myself to toss all of that sticky fun, so what can I do with them? I'm not too keen on the idea of plastering Napster love all over anything, so i'm looking for something that I can do to disguise the words.

Edit: I wasn't expecting people to be asking me if they could have some, so I went and made a post in the craftgrrltrade community about possible swapping so we won't be breaking the ommunity rules, please go there instead.

Okay, at the end of high school I missed the boat on the whole give-your-friends-going-away-gifts thing, because I didn't even think about it. But now I am graduating from college in May, and I would like to do something for my friends, since we're all going totally separate ways.

I am a big fan of letters/notes, and our college yearbook sort of sucks, so I am leaning towards putting together something which would allow me space to write. The best I could come up with was a page or a card with pictures and notes in it of my favorite memories with that person. Is that too corny? Any other ideas, or any suggestions on how I might present it or organize it so that it's something they'll want/be able to keep? What do you all do for going-away presents and graduation gifts?

Well I have been obsessed with making stuff lately and I have made a poncho and crocheted mittens and am working on socks.. But those were really high maintenance so I figured out how to make those easy little tiny paper stars (Cause I have no red duct tape to make roses) and I was wondering what I could do with them besides make it a necklace (like on the lucky stars website) ThankS!

My website has been updated. I added some more content, a couple more sections, updated the format, and a few other things. I put bookmarks on it, and will be adding stickers and coloring books pretty soon.

I added a few fairies to the bookmark section. I am going to be adding them as cards soon also.

I'm in love with puffy sleeves, and I want to make this http://www.simplicity.com/assets/5872/5872fb.gif ("C"). This will be the first shirt I'll be attempting; until now, I've sewn a bunch of skirts, though only a couple are wearable.

Is this too difficult a shirt pattern to start with?

Thanks muchly :)

im making second hand pins, which involves shellacking/sealing paper over top the plastic coating already on the pin. MY QUESTION: what could i use that wont be sticky [im using clear acrylic medium right now, which is sticky as heck even after months of setting] but wont destroy the paper/would allow for a bit of water proof/water resistance? any suggestions would be fabulous!

Hi everyone! I don't post here often, I'm more a lurker type, but I have a predicament and I figured that you wonderfully crafty people might be able to help! Anyway, 3 of my very best friends are going to Paris, France for Spring Break and will stuck on a plane for 7 hours. (treacherous, I know) Anyway, I was planning on making them a shoebox filled with stuff to keep them occupied during the flight. (games, etc.) Any ideas that don't cost any money that'll keep 3 high school kids busy for a few hours? Thanks!

Hey everyone! I'm new here, and i have spent a few hours looking around the memories section, where i have bookmarked quite a few things to try soon. Anyways, i have a little thing to ask, to see if you guys have any ideas for me. Its a decorating thing, i haven't redecorated my room in forever! I need some cool ideas of things i could do, to make my room more punky rockish, but i can't paint the walls. Any ideas are welcome, and appreciated! Thanks =)

I just learned to crochet a few months ago, but I've been busy making a few things. I'm fortunate enough to have an adoring girlfriend who is an amazing photographer, so I have some interesting photos of my creations:
