I know this is a longshot, but if any of you are in the San Francisco/Oakland CA area... do you know if the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse still exists? I've heard a lot about this place and went to look up information on it online, but their domain isn't working and I found an article saying that it was maybe going out of business. Any info on what's up?

The real reason I went to look them up is that someone told me they had magazines that one could use for collage. I'm specifically hoping to find a bunch of National Geographics. Any suggestions on where to look? I can pay if I need to but I'd rather not since I feel kinda strange paying for something I'm just going to cut up anyways. (Just in case, if any of you are in the bay area and happen to have a bunch of National Geographics you'd like to get rid of, please comment.)

hmm

so i was in south carolina for spring break with my lacrosse team and i found a sand dollar on the beach. pretty f'in cool considering i personally have never seen one except in stores. (i saw some live ones too but i just couldnt handle taking those since i consider it almost like murder. i just picked up the one that was aleady dead)

anyway, what can i do with it so it'll look cool? I know people bleach them but is that all i do? just stick it in a container of bleach? it's about the size of a gameboy advance...

if any of you have some interesting ideas, feel free to share :) thanks in advance

Weeeee.
I was sorta busy on my Spring Break...I made some necklaces and some bracelets and a pair of earrings..heh heh.
I am going to show them all to you....
I made the bracelets out of plastic charm things that are suppose to go in your fish tank....but they never made it to my fish tank...I had better ideas for them.

I have a couple feather boas left over from a Halloween costume and now they just kind of sit at the top of my closet. I want to do something crafty with them, any ideas?

im just wondering if i could get you honest oppinons about this.....

I run a store online, i sell scarves and hats and acessories, and im thinking of starting a new product called "scarf to go" or "hat to go" and it will have all the yarn and a pattern to make a hat or scarf, and include the needles or hook needed to make the project and will be in little "to go" containers, im thinking maby a take out box or something like a slurpie cup?

How much do you think i could sell something like this for? and do you think this is a good idea?

I paint wooden boxes for fun, and I just wanted some input on my designs. There's a ton of pictures after the cut. Which do/don't you like? How much do you think I could sell them for? Thanks!

i made a cord skirt...out of some trousers that were too short for me:

i wore it out yesterday, heh :D it reminds me of a gypsy skirt coz of the way it hangs...i like it :D

annnd, i made 2 mothers day cards last night...one for my nan and one for my boyfriends mum. haven't decided which one i'm gonna give to who yet though...

:) the one on the left: pink card with a white card centre, pink organza ribbon, red with gold threads mulberry paper, 2 red glass hearts and a mini wooden peg holding teared vellum with 'Happer Mothers Day' written on it.
on the right: pink card with white centre, pink organza ribbon, different coloured foam hearts and teared vellum with 'Happer Mothers Day' written on it.

my sewing dilemna is that for mothers day i'm making my mum 2 cushions. well 2 covers. i have study deadlines on friday, and over the weekend i'm painting my house, so i need the quickest way that i can whip up 2 lovely lilac cushions... without hassle.

zip or no zip? should i just sew the cusions inside and do a beaded design on the front? i'm quite stuck on how to do this quickly. normally i'm so slow with sewing projects, but they do come out awesome. i'm scared they'll be awful if i rush them. :/

Just made a purple felt flower. I wish I had a digital camera, or even a mostly functional camera, then I could show you a pic. It is a little messed up since I didn't have clear instructions, but it doesn't look too bad. However the felt is not very thick. I am not sure it is very good quality. I bought it at Michael's.

ok I need help. I've always sewn by hand, and after complaining about how much easier it must be to sew with a sewing machine, my wonderful boyfriend bought me a bother xl-5340 sewing machine for christmas. I'm really happy with it...but I can't seem to sew anything right. I know absolutely nothing about sewing with sewing machines...which sucks because the features and knobs are looking at aliens to me. everything comes out uneven. I want to use the sewing machine primarilly to sew handbags from scratch. Can anyone give me any hints, web-links or anything that can help me?

Hello everybody! I'll keep this short and sweet:
http://www.sataninside.com/Ashtrays.htm That's what I want to make. (I know I'm weird for wanting a coffin ashtray)
I was wondering if I could make/bake the form out of Sculpey, paint/seal it, and then *not* have it catch on fire when used as an ashtray?
I've never used Sculpey before, and there's a big ol box of it on my desk just *begging* to be used for something... Thank youuuu!!

(Checked the FAQ already...if I missed it, just post the lnk. ^_^)

I want to get a pair of jeans and write things all over them...kind of crappy jeans..but the fabric is pretty close to real denim, not that fake smooth girly kind of denim.

1. What do I use to write on it? I want it flat and matte. No glitter or puff paint.

2. How do I keep it from transferring? I don't want it to fade once I've gotten it to a state I like.

3. Would it better to use the smooth pseudo-denim? Or would real denim take better?

I saw a pair of jeans made to look like a mermaid fin, and it was all done in Sharpie, but I checked the Sharpie site and it said that it turns yellow after a while.

TIA! :)
