peep! says peep
bleet! says the sheep

the peep purse! not to be confused with his marshmallowy seasonal counterpart, peep himself is a vintage-inspired song bird. made from an old dress, this baguette sports what used to be a pocket and spaghetti straps.

I am helping to organize a craft fair in Arlington, VA at a restaurant with a large banquet hall. It will be on May 8, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Tables are $25 each. It will be our first time doing this, but the owner is fabulous at advertising. Please contact me with further questions at lex@lexscreations.com.

I am in charge of inviting the artists, so if you would like to apply, please send pictures of your work (or links to pictures on your web site if you have one).

Thank you!

(I hope it's OK to put this post here--if not, just let me know and I'll take it down.)

*i did check the faq, but didnt see this mentioned*

i got a nice huge tube of e6000 this weekend, and it came with a nifty little nozzle. i thought "great! better control for making my first marble craftyness". yeah right. the glue keeps seeping out of the nozzle...there is no way for me to get it to stop. i finally pulled it off and put the real cap back on.

so... has anyone worked with this nozzle thing and how do you keep from wasting FAR too much of this stuff?!

((pics to be posted after they dry tonight!))

thanks!

Kandy Clay

I was just looking on Michael's website and saw that. I never knew they made clay you can eat. How awesome. Does anybody know if they make other clay like that? I want to try that!

OK ladies... This is what I have accomplished over the March break.. I used to be really crafty before highschool, but then I stopped, so don't expect too much!
Just Lovely! )
I also have another question. You know when people make these scrapbooks, they have those metal corners that they insert the pictures into? Where can I find them? (The main stores I have here are Wal*Mart, Zellers, Lewiscraft [if its still here], and Canadian Tire) I can get my Aunt in London (Ontario) to look for them there too... But how much are they as well for how many? Thanks!

Help?

Under the cut is a picture of Mary Poppins wearing a scarf.

Is it crochet or knit? Any idea how to copy it?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me. :)

(I didn't want to cross-post, I figured most that are already in the crochet or knitting communities belong here also.)

I just found out a few days ago that I got accepted to my first juried fair (or rather, set of juried fairs)! There's going to be a really nice First Saturdays Art Market in my neighborhood.

What does this mean? Well, I get a 10x10 BOOTH, for starters. I am very excited and very nervous about that! I've never had a booth before, much less at an outdoor show. I bought a canopy tent at a store a few weeks ago, anticipating that I might eventually have to use it (it was on sale for $40). But I'll need to test it out and make sure it can withstand the wind, etc...I wonder if I should attempt to get "walls" for it (probably plastic sheeting)?

Any tips whatsoever about doing outdoor fairs with a "real booth" would be much appreciated. :)

Thanks!

My little brother and I switched rooms and I ended up with a small table that used to be his that used to be my printer stand, it was dark brown and didn't match my bright pink and blue walls, so I painted it.

I don't have anything that i can decopage or collage on. Any suggestions? I'm going stir crazy!

i'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask for it. But has anyone seen the movie "eternal sunshine of the Spotless mind" and know the qoute Kisten Dunst qoutes by Alexander Pope? i'm making a book for my boyfriend's birthday (the 28) and i am hoping to put that in there.

{Edit} Also does anyone know of any intelligent qoutes/ love poems, good songs/Good writtings that i can add to this book?

thanks!

okay, so i get to sort of redo my room this summer and i'm so so so excited!!!!

sadly though, mom won't let me buy the parasol ceiling light from pb teen because we can't put stuff into our ceiling. i'm working on getting the parasol table lamp, though.

so anyway, give me ideas on how to do my room. should i paint my bed? what color should i paint my walls and bookshelves? should i decoupage the shelves of my bookshelves? with what? what should i put on my walls?

another craft question

I have a box of old fashioned glass bottles that i've collected over the years...everything from a hip flask to a couple of glass stoppered bottles (almost like the ones in chem lab) to ones that used to contain old fashioned laxatives and even some old baking extract ones, and my personal favorite, a blue glass one that has "Johnsons American Anodyne Linement" stamped into the glass. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for them (most of them do not have stoppers) or if i should try to sell the more unique ones to a collector or something. I was thinking bath oils for the ones with the heavy glass stoppers but as for the rest, i have no idea

I've not posted on here for ages, but I have still been crafting. Here's a few pictures of the things I'm most proud of. The hat is crocheted with some ace wool I got really really cheaply. I'm in the process of making a poncho with the rest of it. The necklace I made a couple of nights ago, I made quite a few actually, and it took me longer to take a decent picture of it than it did to make all of them. The insect I made last night when me and my mate were playing with beads. I've made a spider before, but never made any wings. they're not great, but they'll do for a first effort.

I've also redone the crafty bit of my website, and there's loads more pictures on there. I don't want to swamp people with them on here though.

i counseled her as best i could, and then i made a wallet of my own.

so i apologize if this is a dumb question, but...

i've seen several people suggest using plastic canvas as lining on purses to help them keep their shape. my question is how would that work though when you're sewing the fabric around it? wouldn't a sewing machine needle not go through the parts where the plastic would be? i guess i'm just having trouble envisioning the whole thing.

does anyone know if i can buy jean rivets at an ordinary fabric store?...like joann or hancocks? you know, the little metal things they attach at the corner of jean pockets? i can't find them on their websites, but i thought maybe they only carry them in their stores or something.

thanks ahead of time. :)

I start working on Tuesday. This alone is news enough as I've never had a job and had no desire to have one to be honest. The owner of the scrapbook store I frequent made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

She offers scrapbooking classes a few times a week and wanted to branch off into some card making. Since she wasn't skilled in cardmaking she asked me to come in 3 times a week to teach a card making class. She's definently overpaying me to begin with and she said she'll pay me more depending on how well the classes go and how many people attend. If a lot of people come, I'll be making a pretty decent amount of change. She said I was good for the job because I was talented and the women who take her classes already would love staring at a gorgeous man for an hour and a half. ;)

So here is the first card we're going to be making Tuesday night. I think its gorgeous, but that might just be me ;)

Wish me luck!
