My boyfriend gave me an idea to make something for the dogs, so I made this bed that turned out much bigger than it needed to be, yet it has a pocket (BF idea also) since my chi and BT love to burrow under the covers! :)

The model is my chi Angel. ;)

So I'm working on an oil painting of japan for a friend of mine, and I wanted to try decupage (did I spell that right?) and put some black and white shots of godzilla and tokyo and temples in it. But I'm not sure if the decupage stuff is going to mess with the oil paint.
Can anyone toss up some advice?
I'm using winton brand paint if that makes any difference.

I am looking for a simple A line skirt pattern that has an elastic waistband. Seeing as how the Joanns sale is on Saturday, I'd like to take advantage of the 99 cent simplicity patterns.

Can anyone recommend a good simplicity A line skirt pattern with an elastic waistband?

bag

At church I saw a woman had a square-shaped bag made out of Capri Sun pouches. The pouches were flattened (no straws), sewn together (i assume) and laminated. There was the front panel and back panel, which were 6 pouches by 6 pouches (i THINK) and the side and bottom panels, which was 1 pouch by 6 pouches. The panels were put together by punching holes and threading cord through them. I don't know how to explain it any better. The handles were those shiny bamboo handles which I assume she purchased but I don't know how she attached them. However, I overheard her saying that the bag wasn't very durable.

Does anyone know how I could make this- I think there's a similar tutorial out there for creating bags out of magazine covers, but I can't find it. And if you do, how could I make it more sturdy, besides just laminating it? And how can I attach the handles?

I have a question that I hope someone can help me, I'm in the process of making this Flower Arrangement, but I'm having a real hard time find the vase. Any clues as to where I should go to find a similar vase?

I want to thank everyone for the advice about what to do with all of the Beanie Babies I had. I opted to try making one Beanie into a small purse. I think it turned out cute, and I plan on making some more for friends and family. Any other Beanies left will probably be donated to a shelter or hospital.

Needing a crochet pattern for a poncho type shawl thingy. If anyone knows of one, or has any, thanks!
[identity profile] zona.livejournal.com
I'd like to make a poncho for my 18 month old daughter. I'm not a very advanced crocheter.....i only know single and double stitch. I did a treble stitch once by accident but i couldn't remeber how if i tried again. My question is.......can i make a poncho simply by creating a rectangle and joining the side to itself....ugh, i wish i knew how to describe it better. Does anybody know what i'm talking about?
I wish i knew how to read a pattern but i've tried making sense of them and i just get confused. I'm self taught (bought a book) and i know it would be so much easier if i had somebody to show me first hand but eh whatcha gonna do.
Anyways.....if anybody understands my strange question......

Has anyone ever made a dog carrier? I'm looking for something such as one of these for my new dog, Annabelle. Right now I can't justify spending $70+ on one, especially since I gave in and spent almost $30 on a collar and leash. It seems simple enough, and even though I don't sew often I think I can manage some sort of modified tote bag. If anyone has ever done this or knows of any patterns, or whatever, let me know.

Also, do you know of any sites with dog clothes patterns or places to get cheap clothes?

does anybody have any idea on how i can string together some asprin? i'm making my best friend a "look at me, it's my birthday!" necklace for her to wear on her 21st birthday. it's gonna have multiple strands and i wanted to create one strand out of asprin (you know, cause it's her 21st b-day, we're gonna go out drinking, she may get a hangover...) i want the asprin to still be usable. i know i saw a post on here once about a rosary made out of prozac pills. i was just wondering if anybody had any other ideas on how i can string them/form them/put them together to create a strand for a necklace. thanks as always for any help!
