Sylvie is a beautiful blue haired faery maiden of winter. She wears a fantastic top of silver velvet with a crystal button and a skirt of white tulle, blue skeleton leaves and shimmery veining.
She loves to dance in her snow white pixie boots with bells at the tips. She flies across the sky with the frost, on the backs of robins.

even if you think you're cool, and smooth and whatever, don't break up CDs with your bare hands. i managed to slice my thumb up right and proper before i noticed. and i have tough fingers, i can flip frying eggs with my fingers. but my skin apparently is fallible with sharp stuff. be careful girls.

so this isn't text only, here are a couple beads i just made, i'm planning on doing a goddess line, these are prototypes.

i made the following skirt out of pink linen and i usually wear it over jeans. The little bag i made out of left over stripey fabric from a previous totebag and the inside lining from the fabric used to make the skirt. i keep my lipsticks/balms/glosses in it in my purse.

i have no idea how to put these behind a cut, i apologize.

i got these boxes at Ikea and decorated them with pictures i cut out of an old book i took home from work on female beauty. i decoupaged them on along with phrases i found in the book and captions that were under the paintings. i traced around the photos and phrases with a sharpie to make them "pop" and glued a black ribbon around the tops of the boxes. spray with varnish/sealent and voila! happy late birthday to my friend Steph.

i really liked how they came out. i liked the idea of combining all these paintings of women from different time periods.

look here! )

sorry for the crappy picture quality-my camera doesn't do close-ups! i hope the size is ok too.

Marimekko collage card made of coloured construction paper and double-sided iron-on fabric bonding (I didn't have any double-sided tape, so hey, I improvised.)

See the whole thing )

Hi,

This is my first post :)
November 12th is a craft bazaar in Pittsburgh,PA, and it'll be the first that I'll sell something at. Now, I'm a crafty person but only to a certain extent. I need some recommendations of what to make&sell. I'm a mediocre sewer and barely know the basics knitting or crocheting. If you have any ideas or tutorials on something simple and inexpensive, I'd really appreciate it!

where can i find colorful zippers online, like the one in this post? all the ones i've found so far are just black or navy. i would go to joann's sale today, but i'm stuck at home because of the 457th hurricane this month.

Hey all...
Here's the deal. When we moved into the house 6 months ago, I planted lavender, oregano, basil and mint (mint and catmint).
It's starting to be fall, and knowing the nature of plants, soon they're going to keel over.
SO...
How do I go about harvesting and preserving said herbs? I really don't use them that often for cooking (the oregano and basil anyway) but I'd like to be able to give my friends fairly fresh herbs if they need them.

Can I pick the leaves and then freeze them? Or do I have to dry them?

HELP!

Yes, a non-picture post, I'm sorry. *cries*

Anyway, craftbeauties!

I looked twice-three-four times in the memories and could not find anything on knitting cat toys. I mean, like, little balls and stuff. I remember my grandma used to knit little balls and stuff them with plastic from grocery bags a few stitches before they were done and the cats would go ball-istic!

I was wondering if anybody could locate any wonderful knitting patterns? preferably for a beginner knitter. I just made my first item. My Coast Guard teddy bear now has a red poncho! Haha. I'm a dork.

Oh, yarn. You're so wacky.

Warning: flagrant use of the word c*nt. )

Fat Panda

Hey thanks to the BUENABUENA! who came up with this pattern.
I figured i'd make the panda pink because I had more pink felt, and i put paws on it because I thought it looked too much like a bodyless head.

It's the first collar my Kittie hasn't tried to shake off. She seemed to really like it's stretchiness, it's softness and it's comfortability. She feels like it's her own fur.

Somehow this is what happened to my cat toy idea... *mindboggles*
