Okay, here's the aforementioned update with the new site for the Fatty Blanket as it progresses. IF you've never seen the strips as it was growing, take a look here.

Rolly Panne

Hi! Never really posted but to reply here... but I think this is a pretty Awesome LJ setup. Sorry for the no picture post but.....
Heres a question: How on earth do you keep the edges of a stretch panne velvet from curling? its always rolling up into something quite scroll like... its strange.
I was inspired to monster making, and since I really have no experience with stretchy fabrics, I've no idea what to do to keep it from doing that rolly thing. :)
Thanks! I know you guys have an answer!

emmaline is just mad about polka dots. she is also just plain mad. it's not that she's insane, or even that she is crazy - oh no, emmaline is quite properly "mad." some people say its because she wasn't raised right. and others say its due to her unfortunate run in with a crazed circus clown. no matter the reason though, she's still just so slightly touched. however emmaline is harmless really. though you should always keep a careful eye on your belongings --- or she just might paint polka dots on your shower curtain.

again: sculpey, wire, paint, ribbon, and hair cruelly stolen from a cheap wig.

I have a large quantity of natural hemp cord in its natural neuteral color.

Is there any way to dye it a darker shade, or perhaps black?

The hemp will be used as string-ties for this project )

For Mothers' Day, I am painting a flower pot for my mom. In it, I want to make a candy bouquet plant thing(I'll put Hershey's kisses in the bottom for the dirt)...I know a vase might be easier, but my mom would get more use out of a flower pot. Anyhow, I'm unsure how to go about making the actual candy bouquet. I was thinking of using sweettarts for the stems seeing as how they are my mom's favorite, but I am unsure of how that will work with the flower pot and am overall at a loss as to how to make a candy bouquet without it looking pitiful. Has anyone ever made a candy bouquet before? How did you do it? How did you make and attachthe candy flowers? Any tips?

Thanks in advance!:)

Crafty Girl Sewing Machine Tee!

Check that out. 'Snot mine, but it's neat.

Also, see progressive t-shirts and buttons for good project ideas at www.NorthernSun.com.

I suggest making "I AM A PEACEFUL PROTESTER (That means you don't have to hit me)." I would if I could FIND FREEZER PAPER! *clench*

I'm going home from college for the summer and I need to get all this crap out of my room. I have a big box of craft stuff that I am willing to send out to YOU! as long as you're willing to pay shipping.

The box is about 8x11x20 and full of different fabrics, yarns (acrylic), and trims. (Also a skirt I half-finished that I figured someone could salvage or cut apart for fabric.) I already sealed it up so I can't take pictures but I swear that whoever gets it will be pleasantly surprised!

Domestic shipping will be around $7, but you can calculate the postage yourself here. I estimated the weight as 2.5 pounds. I'm also willing to ship abroad but I was too lazy to find a postage calculator.

Somebody please help me get this off my hands! I hate to see good fabric go but I need to save my poor college student ass.

Thank you for all the enthusiastic responses, people. The box has gone to the first commenter, so you can all stop posting now. :) I may have to do a second sweep and get rid of even more stuff, depending, and if that happens I promise it will go to someone from this list, but for now, please stop posting. :)

Ugly plastic checkbook cover that came free with my checks )

Fabric glue )

Whimsical checkbook cover that goes well with my yummy new fairy bag! )

I don't really sew, so this was an easy alternative. I wrapped the fabric as I would a present. I did not add glue to the "spine" of the cover so that opening and closing would be easier and less stressful. I am proud of the fact that I was able to recycle some stuff I had laying around the house, and now I don't have to go buy a checkbook cover I like! YAY!

Since mother's day is on sunday, I made my step mother a rosary (she's very religious) Tomorrow I'm making her and my mom both bath salts (her son needs a gift too, and doesn't know what to get her, so I'm helping him out) I got the beads for the rosary today, and I had nothing to do so I finished it lol

It's May so I can post! YES! sorry for the big pics )

Should I get the rosary blessed? I'm not catholic, so I'm not sure, but my friend said that the person that makes it has to bless it, or a preist.

Okay, hi everyone. It's been forever since I've posted. But anyways, I need your help!!

I'm going to Prom, and I don't have money to buy a dress, so I want to take my Homecoming dress and just spice it up a bit. The guy I'm going with hasn't seen this dress, so really, I could just go with how it is, but it's boring to me now, and I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on what I could do. I thought about cutting it under the knee a little, adding a thin strip of black lace and black sequins around the chest area. [you can't tell really, but there are clear sequins all over the chest area already] would that be ugly or what? i need help! prom is in 12 days. help me please!

here's some pictures ).

[identity profile] bjerk919.livejournal.com
Not all that I have been working on but it is something I whipped up for a custom order.
Any comments are welcome.
to be nice )
Yarn for the scarf was from unlucky monkey and the flower was made with some acrylic and trimmed with the same as the scarf.
Cross posted to crochet too

Okay, as I've said before, I procrastinate. Added to the fact that I've had a rough week (if you read my other LJs, you'll know what I mean), and I'm 8 squares short of blankie goodness. Which isn't so bad considering I just made last week's squares the other night. Anyway, here is an amazing police artist style composite of what I've got, artistically rendered so it's not just a pile of unfinished granny squares. XD

TGIP
150 squares total! (Or it will be once I've made 8 more white squares and sewed them together) Which makes 15 pounds AND I'm only 4 pounds away from getting my 10% keychain from WW...which I should be able to do by next week. Yay!

I'll post more pix when it's really done.
