I finally got back into my sewing groove today!! it rained and I had nothing to do while I waited for the dye in my hair to set so I decided to alter a shirt I've had sitting around for three months. I haven't sewn in two months!! It's so good to be back. Despite my serger breaking down on me the first try.

This is a threadless shirt I've been lusting after but never knew what to do with. I was afraid that the addons might take away from the shirt, but they don't. I took it in from an XXL and made it capsleeved, and added polka dot ringer sleeves and a bottom tie.
You should've seen how they danced!  )

I messed up a little bit so I have some questions. Should I make the neckline ringer as well? I was rushing out to meet a friend and didn't have time to finish it. Also, should I make the bottom longer? I'm really not sure if this shirt is flattering to my body and i intended to hem to reach a little further down. I need feedback!

Random.

Okay, I know this is super cliche, but I'm a longtime lurker, first time webcamer, ;). So here are some of the projects that I took random pictures of today for kicks n' giggles. Beware my horrible lack of computer skills, it may take a while to get it to work.

http://tinypic.com/63sohx  = My sexy splatter shirt.

http://tinypic.com/63sqgx = Me making a dumb expression while giving a limp peace sign.

http://tinypic.com/63sow8 = Pink halter + stomach. Fear the belly. >:D

http://tinypic.com/63sqyf = Close up of stencil.

http://tinypic.com/63sr6f = The back of the pink halter + major exposed bra and undie shot, Beware.

http://tinypic.com/63srv6 = One very worried robotman bag.

http://tinypic.com/63ss3d= Back of said bag. The Zap! makes me happy.

HELP!

I have quite a number of projects I want to work on. One of which is a small round patio table we have. It was given to us by a friend, and is metal painted white with a glass top. I want to make a mosaic for the top of it and paint the legs. Any suggestions on where to go to get tile and marbles for mosaics? Michaels and JoAnns don't have a huge selection. Any advice is greatly appreciated - as this is my first mosaic experience.

I mad a little messenger bag thing for the first time today. Well, I've been working on it for 3 days now and finished it today. It's my 3rd attempt at making any sort of bag, so it's not that great. But I like it. :) It turned out a lot better than I thought it would. Here's some pictures:

Easiest thing in the world to make. They're just two trapezoids sewn together. The top part of the trapezoid is your waist measurement + 2 inches, the bottom part is that number times about 1.5 or a little more if you're very pear shaped. The bottom and top are [desired length plus 2 inches for hem allowance] apart. Connect the ends of the two lines diagonally to make a trapezoid shape, voila. Skirt pattern.

my friend dragged me to goodwill a few days ago and i bought some shirts and stuff that i'm going to make into cute little gothic lolita stuff. but i bought a skirt that was made of suede and i took it apart because i want to make some sort of handbag out of it. the suede is sort of a light blue grey and its in 4 pieces that are 18x9 inches. does anyone have any suggestion as to what sort of handbag i should make out of it? i want to make something cute and classy.

Is anyone coming to Renegade in NYC in a car with a need for parking and a place to store your stuff on Saturday night? I thought I'd put it our there because I 'm sort of panicked about how I'll get my stuff to and from Renegade both days without a car, saving myself subway-lugging horrors.

I live in Long Island City, a 10 minute (or less) drive to Williamsburg. My neighborhood has tons of parking (it's the "top secret" place where Long Island commuters park for free, then take the subway to work). Of course, like anywhere in NYC, you don't want to leave stuff in your car to tempt theives. So, I'm offering a place to store your stuff (my apartment) Friday/Satruday/etc in exchange for a ride for me and my stuff to and from the fair. I don't have a ton--probably a big suitcase and a folding table--but it would be so great to have a ride! Please respond if you're interested.

Just wondering if anyone has heard of powdered honey and if so where can one find it. I found a neat recipe for body scrubs and this is an ingredient so any thoughts and help are appreciated. Thanks.

Um... Yeah... Thats my Dad.

My mom is going through some tests so we are going to dinner for Father's day tonight so I am rushing to get it all done, but I think I have it. My dad will really like all this. He loves to read and the book is something he has been thinking sbout getting and then the box I made with all the Marine things on them is just him all the way. He has his dog tags and pictures and a few other things he has that can go in there. He is also a sucker for pics of any of his 22 grandkids. My two will be a topper for him. :)
