I'm in love with totebags.
Jul. 6th, 2005 01:01 amMaking tote bags has become my latest obsession.

Isn't she lovely??
( + more photos for your viewing pleasure )
I also painted this chair about two months ago, just after I had moved to PA.

( flower power to the rescue?? )
And now, my pride and joy. My reminiscent of the 80's bright pink tank top with big sexy waistband. Made from fun pink teeshirt-ish material.

( pour some sugar on me.... )
If anyone knows any of the bands on the posters in the background of these pictures, I will love them forever.
Also. Question! What is a good stitch to use with jersey/knit materials, like teeshirt. I read somewhere that a regular stitch will pull out or something? I don't remember. Is it the zigzag you are supposed to use? Thanks!
(Also, xposted to my own livejournal)

Jul. 6th, 2005 01:36 amIt's nothing special and I'm sure you guys have seen stuff like it before, but still. It started out as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend's punk rock sister that I never got around to finishing until a few days ago... and now shes not getting it lol.

Jul. 6th, 2005 02:01 pmheyyy everyone
i recently bought a yard of this fabric at wal-mart for a dollar (it was just too cute)
but now i don't know what to do with it!
i was thinking maybe a wallet, but i cant find any bi-fold patterns or anything that actually looks COOL.
so if anyone has any random projects or ANYTHING id really appreciate it!
and i'm off to knit!
thanks!♥

Distressing Jeans
Jul. 6th, 2005 02:42 pmLooked through the FAQ and didn't find this question:
How do you make nice holes in your jeans?
Also, I saw the post about distressing with rock salt but wondered how much rock salt to use and how it turned out?

Lord of the Plies
Jul. 6th, 2005 03:24 pmI've been on a plying spree lately.

So soft. It's like yarn made from clouds or something like that. I'm considering leaving it undyed. If I dye it, I'm not sure if I'll dye it so it self stripes or what. It's a huge skein, like 5 ounces, and the thin ply took forever to spin because I kept getting distracted. I hav no clue about the yardage, though. About 55-70 yards. I'll have to figure that out tomorrow I guess.

Three plies, 40 yards, not sure about the weight. It's super soft. I think I'll probably list it on ebay with a few other itty bitty three ply skeins.

There's another tiny skein that goes with this one. Total there's about 4.5 ounces, 70 yards. It's reallllllly soft. OMG soft.

Now this is gonna be a doesy.
Jul. 6th, 2005 04:16 pmWent nuts at the fabric store yesterday, 60 dollars nuts. But I got great fabrics that will be reincarnated into great projects the first of which are two blankets. So behind the cut I worn you is a mess of images around 15. And a couple questions. Happy looking.

a point in the right direction would be so nice!

I've been lurking here for a long time, and love the amazing stuff you all make.
I finally decided to post a picture of one of the purses I've made. It's nothing special, but I like it

hope to be posting more of my work when I get the time

Jul. 6th, 2005 09:00 pmI just got this new sewing machine, and to just cut this short, It's making me crazy.
I'm trying to sew something, and it works for the firts, inch or so, and then the bottom thread gets all crazy, so one thread turns into about four, and then I have to cut the thread and start all over.
does anyone have any advice to stop this?
Thanks

New new new
Jul. 6th, 2005 09:17 pmI just joined this community a few days ago, and since everyone else seemed to be introducing themselves today, I figured I would, too. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of my recent crafts, but I thought I would share a couple of hats and some sculptures I've done in the past year. I do a lot of crocheting, especially in the winter. But I'm currently working on a bag crocheted from plasstic strips. I'll post pictures as soon as I finish.

new necklace + question
Jul. 6th, 2005 10:14 pm
i ran into a lady who wanted a "peach" necklace so i put this together for her.
and, two things:
has anyone ever ordered or downloaded a pattern from stitchdiva.com? i really like the scarves and flowers but my knitting/crocheting skills arent THAT advanced. how hard are they to follow/comprehend? i hate having to ask but since you have to pay for the patterns, they obviously wont let you see them :(
also, for those of you who make earings and necklaces, how do you display them? do you make tags/cards with your info on them? for earings, where can you buy those little plastic holders? any pictures of displays/tags/cards/holders for inspiration would be great! thanks!
