Hey, um I just joined this community....

I was was wondering if anyone had a tutorial or website marked for making like friendship bracelets, like real simple ones out of string? No one ever taught me how to make one and I wanted to make one for my boyfriend so help would be appreciated.

here is some drawings/paintings/and a collage i did just to give you something to look at... )

i just joined this community and wanted to post some photos of the stuff i just submitted for a local craft fair. let me know what you think, and any advice on pricing is welcome. i looked online at the running cost for homemade crafts and was amazed by how much people charge! ;)

This is the first yarn I have actually made on request and I am really happy with the result. A lady who I know through Bookcrossing asked if I could make her a yarn inspired by peacocks. Here is what I came up with:

No peacock's were harmed in the making of this: )

Oh man, I've been lurking since forever ago and haven't gotten up the moxy to post anything until now. xD

A friend of mine and I decided to have a burn-trade one day; we picked out five CDs from each other's collection for the other to burn for them. Simple enuff. To make it intense with fun, I decided to stick together some CD covers, too. )

Ha ha ha I am such a dork, the answer to my question was in the memories. Sorry. xP It was about how to attach ribbon to fabric.

Florence

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say uber muchly thankies for all the nice comments about my monster and some of you I need to email... I will do that shortly :)

This new monster is for my Mum, because I am going away to Ukraine again for a month, to work with Roma children in Lutsk and she gets frightened I will get hurt and stuff... so I made Florence, she stops people getting worried that the ones they love with get hurt. She is a sort of butterfly because at home in the garden there is a tree which attracts butterflies and I used to sit under it alot when I was a kid and say I wanted to be a butterfly... She is called Florence, because Florence is the first place I travelled to alone and I came back fine :) Sometimes my monsters are very personal and sometimes they are very general... this one is kind of specific to my mum... Flo looks a bit like Laurie because my mum loved Laurie...

I was also wondering what people are afraid of, because I like to paint in water colours and stuff and I was thinking of making a range of monsters and having litte story books to go with them... like Mr Men, sort of... the story of how the monster overcame a particular fear. So tell me what you are scared of... I would really like to know.

For the moment, here is Flo....

michaels had small wooden boxes in the clearance isle this week, so i picked a few up.

i had ordered a grab bag of scrapbooking stickers with my stickerplanet.com $10 coupon for having their link on my page (you can put it on your lj page and get one for yourself!).

and i always have some sort of left over paint around and marble gems.

combine, stir and viola!

So I just joined a couple days ago... HI!

I made some pendant/charms/medalion type things:

but wait! there's more! )

After seeing the necktie skirt, I was inspired to get back into using neckties. I used to use them in my art quilts, and also did the skirt/bag/other accessory thang, so I'm already on my way to acquiring a new stash.

Now, the only problem I used to have with using ties, was storing them so I knew what I had when I needed it. Any ideas? We're talking HUNDREDS of ties.

Thanks!

Today I repainted an old shelf my dad had made for me when I was little.  For some reason he painted it dark brown.  But I am hanging it in my 7 year old's room and we chose babyblue with red and yellow flowers.  She personalized it with her name and some hearts and now she wants to paint something like a treasure box or something.  I think it turned out nice and I hope she takes care of it....I almost want to keep it for me :))

a few more here )

since we all love this flower fabric so much... ;)

i made this tank top, no pattern, just eyeing, sewing, tearing seams, adding darts where needed... not high quality, but i'm still happy with it.

This is Magda. I made her for this month's a month of softies. She's really not made of old socks, she's been antiqued a bit. On purpose. :)

question!!

i need a good jewelry glue that will work well with leather.

i'm looking to reinforce some knotting i've done in a recent bracelet (where the leather and 1 bead forms the clasp), and i also want a glue that will work with reinforcing leather put into a sterling silver crimp end.

just one more request, i'd prefer the glue to be something i could pick up this weekend at jo-ann fabric, michael's, or somewhere similar (in other words, a STORE rather than a website-- i need it quick!).

any recomendations?
thanks!

Ok, so my ex-boyfriend and I got back together...after somethings happened....well he loves it if I make him something..I bought one of those little brown boxes from Wal*Mart today. I was wondering if any of you had any ideas as to what to put on it.. I thought about movie stubs and things we joke about but what else should I put in it?
[identity profile] breaksuchaheart.livejournal.com
I have a question, I hope it's appropriate. I've made a stencil for a shirt and everything, and I tried it out on an old t-shirt and it looks really cool. The problem is that all I have is acrylic paint. I tried to find some textile medium to mix it with like it suggests in this tutorial but there wasn't any at Wal-Mart and I am way too impatient to go get some somewhere else in a couple days when I can.

Has anyone ever made a shirt and just painted it with acrylic and had any problems? Does it come off after a wash? Any tips for something I could do?

Thanks in advance! And I'm sorry if this post is inappropriate. Moderators are free to delete it if need be.

Thanks!

so...
i've been working with hemp (err, macrame.) and ive been using size E beads, and im having extreme problems getting the beads on the macrame.. the ends fray and i trim them every time, but its hard.

QUESTION; does anyone know a place that i can get CHEAP beads that would look GOOD on macrame? im using woodish buttons to go with the "old" feel of the macrame, any ideas?

any help would be appriciated.
