I spent this weekend crocheting a small clutch. There was an idea to crochet a gift for a friend whose birthday is at the end of this month. I wasn't sure if I'd have the money to buy her something as her b/d is close to the dreaded Rent Day. SO, since she has a fondness for making her own bags, I figured I'd add to the arsenal.

I made the handles out of polymer clay, baked and painted them. The bag is in tunisian, as is the side/bottom piece. They're SC'd together along each edge. I like to call it the "Bone Clutch."

7" wide x 6" tall (from base of handle to bottom of bag) x 4" deep (from front of bag to back).

I just found out my 3 yr old painted some of my crafts (they were already finished!)
He painted blue acrylic paint on top of orange acrylic paint that had already been sealed! Is there any way to get the blue paint off? I am getting ready for two upcoming craft fairs and he painted FOUR of my little hand painted wooden baskets....ugh!
Any help is appreciated...

Has anybody used the Speedball Fabric Screen Printing Tool Kit from Dick Blick? I'm thinking of asking for it for christmas- maybe from the boyfriend cause he's gift-clueless.

Is it really all I need to start screenprinting? Besides the ink?

And I don't see any emulsion remover, should I buy some of that too?

Can any of you screenprinters just take a peek at that kit and give me your opinion?

Thanks!

I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to make too much new. Mainly I've been doing half a project and then stopping and starting something new. BUT, being the hardcore crochet-loving girl that I am... I have caved and am now teaching myself to KNIT! I'm proud of myself! I'll post whatever I make when I finish it.

Hey there ladies and gents --

So I am a tea fiend, so much so that I have two shelves of cabinet devoted to tea in all the different forms that I have it. So much so that I need to start getting rid of it. To that end, I've decided to start giving out tea collections as gifts to friends. The problem is that I absolutely cannot think of a nifty way to package the tea together. I want something where I can label the different teas, perhaps with a short description. It will be bagged teas only, as I love all my loose teas too much to gift away, which is good as it eliminates some potential messiness.

But anyway, any ideas?

Thanks!

My nephew's birthday is this week and what gifts I bought him all have to deal with dinosaurs. So I thought to make him a dinosaur gift ornament to hang off the wrapped package(s)...but I'm not sure I like how it turned out.

It's cute, I guess, but it didn't meet my expectations.

ok craftsters... question for you.
my guy friend wants a guitar capo for xmas. you know, those plastic things that hold down all the strings at one point so u can do powerchords or whatev. so, the question is, how can i make it pretty other than doodling on it with paints? rhinestones=too girly and unpractical, darnit.

I've been crocheting for half a year now, but I really really want to learn how to knit. Sadly everyone I know can crochet but not knit so I don't have anyone to show me how in person. I learned how to crochet from the Boye's "I Taught Myself" crochet kit and now thinking about getting their knitting kit as well. (Here's a picture) Have any of you tried that out before? Is it good or should I just try to find something else?
