Friendly reminder, today is the deadline to contact Kim with ideas/sketch/proposal/yarn requests for Crochet Me's special love, Love, LOVE issue. Julie says, "Submit and you will find the answer to life, the universe, and everything!".
so i'm drafting my own pattern to make a hoodie, and i'm not sure how the pattern peices for the hood should look. i think it should look like what i drew below, but i wanted to double check so it doesn't come out looking horrible and me be out of fabric.
I have a SINGER sewing machine, and I despise the stupid P.O.S.! I've had it for months, and still for the life of me can't get it to work. I've followed the directions 20,000 times, it looks and seems to be threaded correctly, but as soon as I attempt to use it, there is no sewing at all, and the threads just tangle up. Someone please help me before I go nuts! I have a project that I need my machine for and, I need to get started on it ASAP, since it needs to be completed by mid-January.
Ok I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question but I have made myself a felt case for my Ipod Nano, but I'm tired of carrying it around and having it stuck in my pocket. What I'd really like it to have is a nice thing that it clips to your pants. I'm sorry this is so vauge, but I have no idea what they are called and where I can locate one. Is there any household like thing I can use? Any ideas folks? Please keep in mind I live in a small city therefore I have no big craft store chains (only Crafts Canada which is closing out and Lewiscraft which sucks!). I could ask the one or 2 family run crafts stores if I had a name, or order online....Please help! Thanks!
Sorry it's text only, I'm at school and I havn't gotten around to taking pics of all the crafts I've made recently.

I've googled / searched / clicked my brains out: anyone got a pattern for a *crocheted pointsetta granny square*? I've seen coasters and ornaments and placemats and all sorts of crap, but no granny square. I want to make like 12 of them and sew them together for a pointsetta-granny-scarf as a gift.
So, today I made my first necklace with a pendant (of sorts). It took a couple of tries, but I really like the way it came out. It's actually for my mom who has been bugging me to make her a green necklace... ( First try... )
So, I'm getting a nice shiny new [or second-hand] sewing machine for Christmas...today, me and my mum went looking at Bernina's. And we found a Bernette that wasn't too expensive, and did quite a bit, and the like...but it had plastic bobbins. And, I seem to remember my Fabric teacher saying bad things about plastic bobbins, and mum said that one of her friends, who is a sewing teacher, had said not to use them.
Just wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on the matter?
also, in case anyone was wondering [because I was, until i found out], the difference between a Bernina and a Bernette, is that Berninas are made in Switzerland with Swiss parts, and come with a 10 year warranty, and 2 free services, whereas Bernettes are made in China with slightly cheaper Swiss parts and come with a 5 year warranty and 1 free service.
I'm looking to do some collage work. More specifically, I'm looking to collage fabric onto a wall. What is the best substance to use for this? I want it to be pretty weather-proof and I want it to stick and be see-through.
Have any of you done this before? What's the best product? Any suggestions?
Ok, so since its the season for major commercialing, I'm getting all these christmas catologs pouring in through the mail. Anything crafty/creative I can do with them?
Hi people, I'm new here and I've checked the memories but I didn't find anything related to what I'm going to ask. If I've overlooked something or this is not supposed to be here, I'm sorry. Tell me and I'll gladly delete it.
And does anyone know where I can get a chart of all the swarovski colors? Artbeads used to send them out with their orders but I didn't get any with my last few orders.
My boyfriend is a candle lover, and I decided that for Christmas, I'm going to make him some personalized candles. I want to put things inside of them, and I was thinking about doing a poker theme, and possibly a football theme, as well. Does anyone know anything about actually putting items into candles? I assume I'd have to use a gel candle? I browsed through the memories, but I couldn't find what I was looking for.
