Kids Chair

My MIL bought a kids rocker when Aly was about 2 so that she would have a place to sit at Gramma's house. After a while Aly grew out of it and my MIL thought that we weren't having any more kids (like we did) and took it to school for her kinders to use. The kinders found a hole in the side and, as kinders do, they slowly made the hole a huge rip all the way down. She brought it home and then we ended up with it and I recovered it tonight so my baby boy, who is 2, can now enjoy it like his sister did.

So after that nice loooooong story, take a look at my efforts.

How do I go about stenciling text/lettering onto a shirt? What if it's fairly small? Thanks in advance!

Ok, I checked the FAQs, but couldn't really find what I was looking for. Now that the season's around for decorating stuff again, I was wondering what I could use/make for painting sceneries on my windows and mirrors. You know, the stuff you can easily wash off after the holidays? I don't know what it's called exactly, so I hope it makes sense. The only reference I could find was for stuff to stay on windows, and since I'm renting, that's not really an option. Washable it has to be. Help? Please? Thanks!

Hi!
I bought an embroidered patch to modify a hoodie for my sister. The patch is a 3 inch circle with an incredible pirate cat in the middle. The area surrounding the cat seemed pink on my screen but it was in fact a kind of lilac. It does not clash terribly with the pink hoodie, but it would be much prettier in pink... Do you have any idea how I could change the lilac to pink?

Hi girls! I was looking in the memories, and found something PERFECT for my boyfriend, a Pornex cube. :0) BUT, there isn't really a tutorial, and I don't know how to go about it with the glue and how to finish it off and all that stuff, so if ANYONE can tell me how to go about making this, I would really appreciate it :0)

I have been so busy making earrings, 25 pairs in 2 weeks! Doesn't sounds too impressive? Well, I made the focal beads, too! These earrings were made for a swap I signed up for on PCC. Have a look-see under the cut!

so i made a "chair" phone holder for my friend. it was my first time using an aluminum foil armature with Sculpey, so it's a little less smooth than i would have liked. but my friend loved the gift. thank you to whoever suggested i add a remote, he loved it! the BK are his initials

Hi Kittens,
I got a free sample of heat n' bond ultra bond the other day. Normally I just use the regular heat n' bond, and then go over my fabric design with an applicque stitch to make sure it stays down. But this stuff says not to stitch over it once it is applied to fabric, which makes me wonder whether or not it will really stay down.

Has anyone used heat n' bond ultra before? Tips? I want to bond a design onto a pair of underwear.

I decided to reward myself for finishing one assignment by allowing myself to make a charm bracelet.

I love the chunky fun-ness of this bracelet. I call it:

TOY BOX

It has on it, a tractor, false teeth, spider webs, a domino, a clear crystal, a candycorn, hearts, a hotdog, safetypins, pop cans, a soother, a skate, a guitar pick, a candy, a box of "fish", a fortune cookie, box of fries, a dog house, a mermaid, a boat, a sandal, a roulette wheel, a santa, a shoe, an arm, a compass, and a bandaid!

Hi guys! I hope everyone is doing really well. I've been busy typing up tutorials so I can add to here since everyone is helping me so much :0) I do of course have another question...I was on craftster.org (<333) and found a pattern for a crocheted boobie pillow, and along with the Porn-o Rubix cube, they both would be perfect gifts for my bf...(BTW, I am going to attempt the cube sometime this week and I'll let you know what worked and what didn't :0)) Does anyone have a pattern for the pillow? Not just the boobies, but the actual pillow? I can NOT crochet for my LIFE, so ANYTHING or any direction would be greatly appreciated :0)

Okay, so, I have big ambitions. Big ambitions indeed. So, my plan is to make myself a really awesome pullover (no zipper!) hoodie with a v-neck in a cool color with a design on it that I can get a lot of wear out of. A tall order, apparently. I figured out how to buy a cheap plain pullover hoodie (something like seven bucks from www.blankshirtstore.com). But of course the neckline is the typical high up crossed in front slightly (from the hood? Does anyone know what I mean? I will maybe put up a picture demonstrating later), so first question: would this look okay if I cut out a v-neck? Or would that be too difficult to do? This is the sweatshirt I am getting probably.

Second question! None of the colors are any good. I want either a teal or, more likely, a burgundy. So what would be the best thing to dye with? I looked through the memories, and RIT dye got some bad-mouthing and the RIT site says results will be bad with anything with fifty percent or more polyster (and the hoodie is 50-50 cotton-polyester). Someone mentioned Procion dye, so I looked into that, and it seems pretty good, but does anyone know if this will work well on the 50-50 blend? And also, is it usually available at craft stores? And tips on how to use it? If anyone has any better ideas for dying, I am all ears. (Also: note to self moreso than to anyone else, remember to do a white vinegar wash after following all dye instructions to color-fast the dye.)

Lastly! Any ideas for what sort of designs to put on the hoodie? I'd like to cross-stitch something on, but I'm not sure how well that'd work with that kind of fabric. So maybe I could stencil something? Or sew something cut from other fabric? I'm really not sure. I kind of want something really simple but cute, along the lines of, I don't know, a bird or a heart or some typical image like that only less typical . . . Yeah, this isn't exactly top priority, I figure I can always come up with something.

Please help! (Yeah, and I apologize for my excessive exclamation points/questions/rambling/oddness in this post; I am rather hyper at the moment.)

Just out of curiosity, I bought six frames the other day, but didn't need to use the glass in the frames. So, now I have six panes of 5*7 glass (as well as the backing pieces of wood) that I have no idea what to do with!

So, if anyone has any ideas, for either the glass, or the wood, please let me know! I'd hate to recycle the glass, I'd really like to find something fun and exciting to do with it.

Thanks in advance!

i've been a member here forever and i love everything everyone makes!
i finally took a little time to take some photos of a few of the things i've been working on:

in chronological order. )

just wondering about your opinions on the following matters:
what is your preferred brand of shirt to stencil on?
i used jerzee's tees here because they're under $4 at michael's.
the sizes aren't consistant though. two of the YS i bought were perfect, the other two were too small!
what is your paint-to-medium ratio?
i usually have a quarter sized blob of paint and a squirt of textile medium.
not too methodical, but seems to hold up in the wash well, even for large images.
what works better for heat setting? using an iron or a hair dryer?
i have an old mini dryer i use just for that purpose, since i tend to smudge the paint with an iron?
does an iron work better though, and im just too impatient to wait 24 hours for my paint to dry?

thanks sooo much for looking at my first post! happy crafting.

I just got the Knifty Knitter round four-pack today from my work, but I wasn't able to get one of the project books (we're sold out, appartently). I'm impatient, and I want to start a scarf (especially since a cold front came in today). I've tried looking for instructions online as to how to make a one-colored scarf using the round Knitter, but I haven't had any luck. Can anyone help?
