figured i would post these here too, some jewelery i made in the last couple of days for a craft fair. wanted to make sure i had a nice assortment of items. unfortunately most of my supplies didn't come in so my BF was sweet enough to buy me a little bit of things are hobby lobby(which at the moment has a 50% off jewelery supplies, woo hoo) anyways on to recent beading, mostly simple stuff in this batch, with lots of vintage earring pendents and circuit board resister charms i made up, heh.

large images, was lazy and just placed them on the scanner.. )

okay!

basically, i saw a jacket type thing in a store ages ago, and i would like to try and make something similar. i sort of know what i want to do, i've never made my own pattern up before (well i made a tank top, that was relatively easy!) so what i am most worried about are the sleeves!

Hello again craftgrrls! :)

I need some help - Are there any Wicked/Wizard of Oz/therefore related stories, etc. fans among us? I'm working on a few altered book/scrapbook projects, and I want to make one for a friend who's obsessed with anything Oz. I'm familiar with the original L Frank Baum storyline, but not much else after that, particularly not Wicked, but wanted some ideas as to what to include in this gift project, what imagery, colors, words - Anything you might be able to think of will be of help, I'm sure. I need things that are related but also doable in mediums that can be used for this sort of object/project. :)

Thanks for your suggestions! And sorry for the text only post... ^_^;;

I have the Speedball starter screen printing kit... but i don't use the big screen that came with it, (because i'm afraid of ruining it.. or making a design that i'll want to keep forever) instead I make my own frames by stapling screen printing cloth to ikea frames. My first & second screens ever, I used organza and mod podge, and that worked out really well. The first time, I had little air holes in the mod podge.. but the second time, I put food coloring in it so I could see where it was on the screen.

But now.... I am using the speedball screen filler that came with the kit, and painting it on with a paintbrush. I get lots of little pinholes/airholes where the filler just decided not to fill.. and this forces me to go back over the screen several times, despite me layering on the filler pretty thickly.

Are there any other brands of screen filler you recommend that are thicker or something? Or is it a problem with painting with a paintbrush?

I just made this awesome screen... and I really hope it doesn't wind up having too many holes when it dries.

I'm making french memo boards for X-mas gifts this year and would like to sew on buttons where the ribbons intersect. I think it would be lovely to cover the buttons in some complimentary fabric. I've Googled how to do this, but can't find anything!

Does anyone have any tips on how I can do this? Thanks!

Hey Ladies (and any Gents)

I'm looking for some old records, to make crafts out of. (Christmas gifts specifically) I need the records themselves, not the sleeves, so if it's only records and no sleeves at all, that's perfectly fine.

I live in a small isolated town in Northern Canada, so there's none of these Value Villages or such stores that have old records to buy and there's 2 feet of snow on the ground, so no late season yard sales, there's not really yard sales ever... so the go buy them option isn't really there. I've asked around also.

Soooo, would any one have any suggestions on what else I can try? Cos I'm kind of run dry of ideas. Heh or would someone have any they themselves need to get rid of?

I'm looking for a pattern for a bag which looks like a flight attendant bag. It's a square bag with rounded edges. I know it sounds simple but I would really like the pattern. If you know where I could find it please let me know. I've searched through google and some craft communities and found nothing.

Last Sunday, I spent the whole day with my mom, while my husband went deer hunting with my dad and brother at my parents' home.  Mom and I went to Michael's (they just opened the new store a few weeks ago) first.  They happened to have a demonstration on how to use the Knifty Knitter. I bought one on sale (was supposed to be 14.99 but was on sale for 9.99!  Walmart has those for 11.99).  The demonstrator was an interesting person.  It was a man, who was working at Michaels.  He was bald but had inch thick sideburns, and tattooed all over.  He actually volunteered to do it, which confused his co-workers!  Mom and I went up (mom interpreted most of it) and asked him how to use it, since I was buying it.  It was so easy!  Mom was laughing at the unexpected appearance of the demonstrator but it certainly made it interesting.  Hey, if he can do it, I can do it!

Now I'm proudly showing off my first project which I just finished this morning!  I used cheap regular black yarn and *sky blue* fun fur.  What could I make with those?

Click here to find out! few pictures included...of course! )

So tomorrow, for Spirit Week at my school, it's '70's Day'.

Any ideas? I don't have anything so far, so anything's appreciated - even hair/makeup ideas.

I finished the bracelet I made for my Mom for the holidays. She loves purple and I saw these beads on sale so I went for it. I like it a lot and I think I may make myself one in blue.

Hi,my mom and I are thinking about having a booth at a local fall festival next year. Now,this isn't a craft show.. people sell food, crafts, artwork, wholesale items, businesses advertise, local singers, etc.

Anyways,I have a couple questions..

#1 The booths are set up on the street..so where do you get a booth that will stand on asphalt?

#2 Our items are all pretty inexpensive [like $15 and under].. do you think we'd make back the fees + enough profit? I know we'd have to make TONS + sell TONS. [About 10,000-15,000 people attend and usually there is around 300 booths and the fee is a couple hundred dollars]

Also, anyone know of a place that makes pretty cheap business cards? Or should I make my own? Any other ideas/tips are more than welcomed! + Been reading the memories!

OK- So I am getting my first paycheck EVER (woot) soon- and I very desperately want to buy a button maker. I would like to get one that has a good amount of supplies that come with it- and for a decent price. Please no e-bay suggestions, I don't have a credit card and my parents would never let me use theirs.
So where did you get yours? Was it worth the price?

thanks a lot!

Does anyone have this? I have a question. I have the rectangular loom, and I've come pretty far with my scarf. But there is a little string that is connected from my loom to one corner of the scarf. What do I do with this? Tie it in a knot or wait until I'm done or what? Since the string is still connected to the loom and a corner of my scarf, its beginning to deform the shape of my scarf as it grows. Help please! =)

The last craft challenge on craftster.org was called New Life for Old Jeans. I didn't finish mine in time to enter the challenge so I'm posting it here. )

And I am wondering something: What is something good and sturdy to use as a base for a christmas tree topper?

I made a giant cookie jar that is a giraffe, and a little purse for myself that has cartoon print fabric on it.

Pictures back here :] )

The end. :] Thanks for looking.

Question for All You Craft Grrls,

Do you think I could make one of these? It's not a vintage, milliner-perfect specialty item anymore, is it? The new ones just look like someone put some cardboard around the brim of a bunch of green felt and sewed a patch onto it. No offense, but I think I could make that for about $2 from the fabric store. Anybody with any simple beret patterns they'd like to share?
