Has anyone ever used Avery Brand Iron On transfers for dark fabric? Are they white when you iron on a section which does not have anything printed on them? I've used the ones for light fabric, I they are clear when you iron them on, I need them to be white. Just wondering if anyone knew off hand.

Just wanted to show off some jewelry I made. I am forcing myself not to keep these. I have a habit of keeping all the jewelry that comes out the coolest. Some day I'm going to spend a whole week making stuff for myself. Let me know what you think!

I wanted to thank [livejournal.com profile] bluekittyorange for a tip! I had been searching for stronger gauge chenille stems / pipe cleaners; floral supply wire was suggested. Twenty gauge fabric covered floral wire works WONDERFULLY for my needs! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

sorry this is txt only, will try to post a pic of a baby blanket i made on the weekend.

I have 4 year old twins i nanny for, and i fogot to think of a craft idea for today!
I need help!
One of the girls is a little behind, she is slower and needs help (think of early 3 year old) and the other is still a young 4 but acts 4.

I need something quick we can do. cant take more then 30-60 min (attention span isent that long at this age)

We have construction paper on hand, as well as markers, and crayons.
I also have other "house hold" stuff, so any sugestions you could give me would be great! as soon as i came in the door at 7:30 they started to ask what i was going to do with them!

help?

Made of a stretchy blue and black snakeskin vinyl with black satin trim.

This one stays with me, but I have more of the exact same vinyl in bright pink which may be turned into the same thing at a later date...

X-posted baby....

I just got a cell phone for my birthday, and instead of buying a case for it, I knit one out of some leftover Noro silk I had. Got the idea from Stitch and Bitch, but adapted it to make it easier and avoid the button:

My first attempt at kanzashi flowers. They came out a little large so I think I'm going to turn them into fridge magnets.

i think there should be a special spot in the memories section for craft fair related questions and answers. two friends and i recently put in a joint application for bazzarbizarre san francisco, to be held late april. since this is the first fair for all three of us, i've been doing some major research on what to do and what not to do!

here are the links that were really of use to all of us!

100+ things to take to a show
dispay tips (placement)
more display tips (asthetics)
craft fair survival guide (aimed towards candle selling, but great tips still)
dispay basics that you may have overlooked
be color-smart about your displays! color meanings
general help question, with GREAT answers, must read!
booth etiquitte
selling tips for shows
[livejournal.com profile] kazoogrrl showed me this link: a craftster's fair experience!

and lastly, my photo that was submitted with the application )

i hope we get in! *crosses fingers* WE MADE IT!

There are a few screw-ups, but I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out. What do you guys think?

Hey guys...a year or two ago I bought this t.v. for like $20.00. There's nothing wrong with it, but I've upgraded since then and before I go try to sell it I would like to know if anyone has any ideas for crafty things I could do with this thing? I've seen TV's turned into fishbowls and whatnot but...yeah there sure are wires in there and I sure know jack about electronic stuff like that...

Here's a pic of the t.v. )

Soooo yeah, ideas plz? :D

I must be lapse in my cult duties. The world of responsible adulthood has kept me from finishing this shrug, but by gosh, I shall! I just wanted to post a picture of the arm I have done...lol. Incentive to get the back and other arm made, I guess :)

look ma! An Arm!! )

I finally splurged for a timbuk2 messengerbag after my schoolbag almost tore in half. I got the billboard bag, and I'm so excited!! I screenprinted a panel from a kozyndan panoramic on the front and I'm going to cover the back in stickers!

I cut ruby transparency to create colour for the bear and the vomit and then burned it all onto a screen. Printing it was a lot trickier than i thought, I had to raise the white part on a book and then tape the buckles to the table.
Still, the ink bled somewhat because the vinyl is really slick but i really love the look of the bleeding.
It's printed in oil based inks, which stink like a MOTHER; even worse than plastisol inks! I couldn't print with plastisol because I didn't want to risk melting my whole bag under the spot dryer.

+1 print detail )

I've got so many more crafts to post, i've just got to get off my ass and fix up the photos!
