Short and sweet Q:

I'm looking for light pink and aqua duct tape. I searched the memories and found sites that sell the colors but list them as "bad for crafting." Anybody have any experience with those colors and if so, where'dja get 'em?


I've only bought colors at Michaels and I really love the way the colored tape lays so nicely (easier than original silver duct tape). I'd like to find pink and blue like that.

Ok so my friend picked up a necklace in another city that i just love. It is rectanglar shape and clear with blotches of color and has little pieces of electronics inside. She said that the clear material is resin? I'm not to sure how one would go about making something like this or how expensive or hard to use resin is. Any ideas?

BF in a New Apartment

Okay, so my last entry got deleted and my apologies for posting something inappropriate. I re-read the guidelines and I think that I have refined my questions enough to following protocol.

Boyfriend's moving into a new apartment. He's very protective of what's happening and won't really humor me by answering questions. The following are some ideas I'm going to try:
1. He loves this organic farm he worked for last summer. I think I'm going to buy a small, rectangular flowerbox and plant herbs in it because he also loves to cook. He can leave it in his window or, you know, whatever. What are good herbs that don't require much attention?
2. He's a new college student and is having a lot of fun with his classes. I've been kicking the idea of a homemade calendar around, but I'm not sure how much he'd use it. He appreciates the work that goes into a lot of this stuff though he may not necessarily use it, so I think I'm going to go through with the idea. I want to put random pictures in (pictures of us, he loves H.R. Gieger, 28 Days Later, etc.) and important dates. Should I bother to laminate it? It's not like it's re-usable. Hmm.
3. Boris. Boris is his albino hedgehog who also moved in with him. I'm thinking about making Boris a giftbasket for the boy's birthday. There are also plans floating around making a maze for Boris to run around in. Instead of doing it for the boy (and having my feelings hurt when he'll never use it after hours of intensive labor), I'm going to get him some materials to make the maze out of. Rather than buying stock plastic sheets, it would be nice to recycle some. What are some household objects that could be transformed into a rodent-proof maze material? Keep in mind Boris is about a pound about four inches wide, six inches long.

Stencil & paint safety?

Thinknig about making stencils and using them on various articles of clothing and fabrics. Would it be safe to use spray can paint on underwear (the top front part)? The fabric is a cotton material. Would it be safer to wash it (after painting), before use? I guess these are silly questions, but I just want to know if anyone has any help on this?

i was playing with my beadbox, trying to reorganize it, when i got distracted by shiny things. i ended up making a lovely necklace.

silver and glass charms, with silver wire (20 gauge), blue/black and silver seed beads, blue glass beads.

So, I went shopping, and noticed that all the necklaces and bracelets that I liked were over $10. And that's after being discounted from, like, $200 each. I ended up just going to a craft store and buying supplies to make some crap of my own.

Here's the result. ( ResultS, I mean. )

I was trying to find one of those really long beads with a bunch of holes going through them to thread through, but couldn't find anything. Then I found these semi-long beads and thought that maybe I could burn holes myself with a needle. That was quite a mess.
Are they sold anywhere?

so since its after easter, the plastic easter eggs are on clearance everywhere...i got 4 packs at michaels for $4 ($1 per pack) and decided to be crafty with them.
