This may seem like an odd question, but it will probably make more sense in context. I need to know the best way (or if there IS a way) to varnish or otherwise protect (not stain) wood.

i've asked this before, but i don't recall ever getting an answer.

i have some clothing to dye (mixed fabrics, but i care most about successfully dyeing what's made of wool) and i need to know what the best bonding agent is. some say to use vinegar, some say salt, some say dish soap.

i've dyed wool and cotton before with regular rit dye using salt and it was a huge failure. the cotton didn't take at all and the wool just tinted. i was using black dye too.

ACK!

I did a load of reds/oranges/purples that have been washed together before. Unfortunately, SOMEONE left the machine set to "hot" and now the bits that used to be white are now PURPLE.

Can anyone suggest something that I can use to get the whites back? I thought of color remover, but that may mess up the red. And bleach will definitely lighten the reds.

I am going to try to make stencils for shirts and some projects. My mom got a bunch of those folders you can get for like a penny. Could I use those for stencils or would that be bad?

Second question I made a bunch of cute pictures. I want to give them to this guy named mike. I don't want to put holes in them though. I was thinking of puting them im some art type folder for display. Any ideas?

My boss will have a baby soon. This will be her baby gift. I'm going to add an airplane in the lower right hand corner. Actually, the picture is upside-down, so mentally flip it, then add a plane.

Eh?

I got a new cell phone yesterday, and the case it came with sucks. It's plain boring black, and it's kind of small so the phone is so tightly jammed in it's really difficult to pull it out. So, I made myself a little phone cozy for my phone.

It's made of felt. More pics. )

Hello crafties.
I just had a quick question I was hoping someone could help me with.

I beleive I once saw a project on here that was made from playing cards that were modified into little gift books for a significant other.
Each card had something written on it, sort of a 52 things I love about you theme.

I have a one year anniversary coming up *very* soon and I would like to see that post again.
I looked in the memories but couldn't locate it.. any help would be lovely.

Thankyou!! :)

I have a question about a 'slouchy beret' for crochetters.
I've been wanting a crochet beret like this )

Dear everyone:
I am in need of advice!

I took a tee-shirt, and made it into an off the shoulder top, in one fell swoopy cut. I think it's a bit too plain, regardless of the fact that it's a google tee shirt, but still!

My friend wanted to give a silver uterus charm to a a retired OBGYN, but she could not find one anywhere. So she drew a picture (as seen here) and I made a silver charm from it, Precious Metal Clay, black salt, and polymer stampage. The shrinking was achieved by resizing the drawing in Photoshop, not the clay itself (PMC3 only shrinks about 10%). The finished charm is, well, charm-sized (about 1/2" wide).

It's a terrible picture, but you get the idea.

Alright, gals (and guys?).

I present to you, a question.

A friend of mine's birthday is on the 18th, and he's having a party. Trouble is, I don't know what to get him.
[More specifically, I don't know how to go about making it for a 'him', rather than a 'her'.]

A while ago, I mentioned I had made myself a necklace, and he said he wanted one.

The question part: Any idea what I could make out of black and white sead beads (he loves black and white, and I have tons of sead beads right now)? I don't have a whole lot of experience with jewellery making, so if it isn't too difficult, that would be awesome.

I have no idea how to go about making a necklace for a guy. I don't want to make it too 'girly' or anything.

Help?!
