In the last year I picked up more than the basic chain stitch, which is all I knew how to do in crochet for most of my life... which I thought to be way too boring to waste time on. This is a pattern I've been perfecting for some time, and I think I've got it where I want it now. Yay!

These are a couple of things I've been working on the last couple of days. The colors =are= slightly off. The solid yellow is a bright, sunny yellow. The variegated yellow/white suffers the same, while the mellon-looking hue is actually an orange-sherbert orange/cream. (sighs) Scanners... well I'm a bit too strapped for cash to get fresh batteries for my camera, so... yeah. I'm making do.

Both are 100% cotton, perfect for wash cloths or dish cloths.

So, I finally finished this last night and I thought I would post it.

I'm moving into an apartment on Saturday and my mom gave me a really ugly table so I wanted to do something to cover up the top. Here it is start to finish. I used crossword puzzles, Sudoku puzzles and word finds. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I used rubber cement to stick the paper down and then sealed it with clear contact paper. That way people can fill them out with dry erase markers and I can wipe it off.

The boarder is the answers to the crosswords and word finds that we didn't use (alternating) and the answers to the ones we did use are contact papered to the the bottom of the table directly below the puzzle they answer.

I have 10 pictures showing my process, so I'll cut tag them, but the project was to portray the name of the magazine (Craft:) in the crafty medium of your choice. Being a soapmaker, I crafted it into a 3-pound loaf of soap. :)

So I decided to try my hand at the whole multi-strand necklace thing. I don't do too much beading in general, so it took a bit of trial and error. I think the first one is the most successful...for some reason I wasn't able to duplicate that look with the other 2. Oh well, it was a good way to use up the gigantic stash of random/assorted/leftover beads I've collected. Any feedback would be much appreciated Thank you!!!
**WARNING**
very very image heavy, sorry

loved the crossword table.
these days it feels like anything with a flat surface is subject to my decoupaging rants.

so here's my kitchen table.

don't have before shots, but it's a k-mart special that was quite boring. i feel like i need to paint the legs another color but i'm indecisive.

edit: danke for all the suggestions! out of laziness i might keep it white, but thinking of going with red or aquamarine.

they're old recipe cards i found at a thrift store. )

Some time back, one of our fabulous community members posted a pic of her "Dark Tower" necklace. The centerpiece was a silver bird skull, which she said she'd received as a gift and wouldn't mind finding a source for.

I think I've found a source for these pendants. WARNING: They Are Not Cheap. However, the artisan sets semiprecious stones in the eyes, which is very cool.
