I have a pair of jeans that fit really well and I love them, but the buttons on the button fly came off. (They were cheap jeans) They're the kind of buttons that go through the fabric. I was wondering if anyone's had this problem, and if so, what did you do about it? Should I just take off the other buttons and replace them with the regular kind of buttons?

I'm going to have a Snakes on a Plane party opening night, and I was looking for some crafty ideas!

My ideas so far plus a picture )

I haven't been nearly as crafty as I'd have liked to, but I have plenty o' plans now that I've decided to do a local craft fair! Anyways, here are some picturs of various and sundry things I've made. Some are a bit old, but meh. You guys like to look, right? Right.

Some pottery painting, some Harry Potter stuff, and my very own special Monster Blanket (totes image heavy) )

So, maybe you have this problem. You've painted cheap light switch covers to match your room, but the paint comes off them, and you find yourself repainting them year after year.

I got a bit bored with the cycle. Instead, I took them off, coated them with mod-podge glue, and stuck on pictures I'd printed out on my printer. Then I went over them with several more layers of mod-podge.

Sometimes, I can't find the light switch... )

i found a cool bag to carry my books in for this coming semester, but it didn't have any inside or outside pockets for keeping pencils and other odds and ends from having a party all over the place. so, i made this. )

thanks for looking. (eventually cross-posted to my personal journal.)

ok so this is an odd thing but i just sealed/primed my wooden rat cage and painted it. now i want to seal it with something that will give some resistance both to just general wear of ratties walking all over it but also for the urine.
anyways my question is what should it be sealed/coated with?

have had a couple suggestions but with all the products of sealers, varnish, shellac, etc etc and all that stuff, just dont really know what would work best. once friend said i just needed some hi gloss clear paint..

anyways anyone who has experience with these products can tell me what to look for to get?

luckily they only rarely chew on the cage, mainly only if i dont have other things in there for them to play with for some reason or another..

I know I've seen some posts on this here before but I can't find them to save my life.

I'm doing a trade show in the spring to show my jewelry and I want to start planning for my booth now because I want it to be really, really, really good looking. I've seen too many people who waste their entire booth space by plunking a boring table across the front and that's that.

The booth is going to be 10' x 10' (because that's all I can afford). I haven't decided if I'm going to get a corner booth (w/ just 2 walls) or a middle booth (w/ 3 walls) My colours are cyan and white. I've used them on my website, business card etc. And I'm really in love with the idea of having an all white booth. Maybe like a jetsons-style living room. I know for sure I want to hang funky white based drapes because the rental drapes are super ugly colours and look 10 years old. I did pick up some uber cool chip n' dip trays from walmart in my exact cyan blue which I thought would be kinda funkier then plain square jewelry trays. I also stole a really cool bucket style chair out of my neighbours garbage that I may spruce up.

So I have a few funky accent pieces but have no idea how I should display anything. Obviously setting it up like an actual living room wouldn't work too well because coffee tables are too low for people to bend over and look at but a regular table seems like it take up too much room and will be too cramped in the booth.

Anyone have any ideas to display my jewelry but still have my booth inviting to walk into?

This is my first completed crochet project and while it is not a horrendous disaster; it is also not an overwhelming success. First the pictures...

So, I made this bag for one of my guy friends who's going away to university soon. It's his first year, he's doing a music major and is in love with his double bass (which he let me name - Basselbee!), so I made him a sweet book bag to carry around his music folders/books/random paraphanelia in. :) It looks a lot like a man-purse, but he loves it anyway...

Follow the bouncing bass! )
