Sep. 3rd, 2006 03:07 amI was rooting through some old junk when I found all my POGS!

Any ideas what I could do with them? (Besides earrings, as I don't have pierced ears.) I could have sworn we'd talked about pogs here before, but the memories revealed nothing.

Sep. 3rd, 2006 01:33 pmWent to the craft store yesterday...not sure what I was looking for. I ended up with this

That book was only $16 to start and then all the books were 40% off!! I'm very interested in some day being able to do amigurumi. So I need to learn how to crochet.
While searching for some type of tutorial I found this video and thought it was pretty funny.
Anyhow, I didn't have to be frustrated for too long. A friend came over and helped me out. I made a lil beanie! Now I have to make a plush that can wear it :) Hopefully learning how to read patterns won't be too difficult....I hope!

Sep. 3rd, 2006 01:48 pmHey guys. I've been in the community for a while, but this is my first time posting anything.
I've been on a painting streak the last week or so, so I thought I'd share my silly little creations. :P
( kinda image heavy. sorry :-/ )

Sep. 3rd, 2006 02:59 pmi have several punched tin dia los muertos ornaments that have been painted with some sort of metal glaze/paint to tint them....its definately not an acrylic or anything, because it has a transparent quality to it. anyone have any idea what's used to achieve this effefect? here's an example, almost like if you colored tin foil with markers or something:

Sep. 3rd, 2006 04:21 pmThe subject accurately describes my desperation.
I am a new middle school teacher in Los Angeles and I arrived in my new classroom this past week to find my projector screen completely tagged up. A well-meaning veteran teacher comes in a sprays white schellac on the screen and... it makes it look worse. He then comes in with a miracle solution (clorox-soapy concoction) which effectively removes the rest of the tagged mess. My problem is I still have some shellac that is on the screen and only seemed to enhance the graffitti (there are some profanities in that area... great).
So... I was wondering, since many of you have the ins-and-outs about paint, is there anyway that i can remove this paint? I'd like to be able to use this projector screen.
Thank you, you wonderful people you.
Hm... and my most recent, crafty adventure? Making bulletin boards for my classroom. I'm sure none of y'all actually want to see that. :)

I don't usually post in here, but today I came up with an idea for a gift for my boyfriend. He is very into music, and I decided to collect love songs from around the world and make him a cd. For the insert, I am going to say where each song is from, give a little info about the artist, and try to find lyrics and translations. The only problem is I am having trouble finding lyrics, and when I do it is hard to find the translations. Any advice on where to find such things or any other ideas for this are welcome. Thanks!

A lined crochet handbag...

Made with Caron Simply Soft in Toasted Almond...sort of following this pattern. Until I realized I had managed to end up with the wrong number of stitches about halfway through, got confused, and started improvising...
( the little sweatshop kid that sewed the lining in this is getting fired tomorrow )
