ds lite skins

ok, so i bought a ds lite (the pink one, woot!). i really want a skin for it - if you don't know what i mean, it's a vinyl type thing (I think) that sort of sticks on to alter the look of your ds. here is a link to a hello kitty one.

what i'm wondering is, is there any way to make your own? or is there a website available that allows you to upload your own design and sends you the skin? i don't know if any such thing even exists, but it would be so cool if it did. anyone know? i think it would be much cooler to have a unique skin than a commercially designed one. thanks!

Dying Fabric

I mentioned before that my husband and I are going to be Harley and Joker for Halloween this year. I looked high and low and couldn't find a purple tails tuxedo. So, I found a white one on ebay and a white tux shirt as well. I scored the whole suit for $80!!!! yippee!

We are going to dye the suit purple and the shirt peach. I found the colors of Rit dye that I need to get, and I have to go buy them today. Now, here is the problem. I never dyed anything before. What tips do you guys have for dying? The suit is polyester and the shirt is cotton. I have read that the best method for large items is the washing machine... but I'm terrified that I will end turning my husbands work clothes purple. Can I do it in the bathtub?

I am just so so so excited! I have the pieces to make Harley. I just have to wait for my mom to come help me. I have never sewn spandex before and I don't want to mess it up. The suits cost me $80, and I wouldn't be able to have another one ordered in time or have the money!!!

I already have the make-up too!!

*squee* Oh, and I got an email about the local radio station costume ball... and grand prize $1000!!!!! Here's hoping!

or possibly fake leather?? i want to immitate a chanel wallet

ok dumb question. i know wool felts when it is 100%. do other animal fibers felt? (ie, alpaca).

i have been knitting for over a year now, but i've never done anything felted... i like some felted things, but i have some beautiful emerald color alpaca i am thinking of using for a panta, but i don't want it to felt. will it?

I need a pattern.. I can't find one.
I want to make a girly fitted hoodie. I have a bunch already, but i want to make my own. The only patterns I can find are all baggy and whatnot, and since I am lazy, I am looking for a pattern that is damn close to what I am actually looking for.
Here is an idea of the style I want.
I figure, since I work for Hot Topic I can steal their images. :-P
