I know there is a website somewhere where you can upload an image and it will print it out as a poster on several sheets of paper... I was wondering if anyone knows what it is called, or has a link? I can not find mine anymore.

Thanks!

Just finished my first quilting class and made a rail fence quilt out of batik fabrics. All the blocks are the same and its very easy. Pattern is found in the book "start quilting with Alex Anderson".

In honor of tomorrow's Talk Like A Pirate Day,
I spent a lot of time this weekend compiling this post for my craft blog:

Craft Like A Pirate, or The Skulls and Stripes Forever

It's primarily, but not exclusively, knitting patterns: the skull-and-crossbones thing seems to have taken hold most widely in the knitting world. I had hoped there would be more crochet and bead patterns. There are a few patterns I left off, because they weren't really piratey and I wanted to have something left for Halloween. There are eyepatches, felted hats, a gazillion things with skull or jolly roger motifs, ships made with milk cartons or from model kits, baking pans, beads, several squid-related items, and a skeleton fish. Almost all are free patterns, and there are 30+ links. (Some are older, but I think it's fun to have them all in one place.)

I worked my butt off on this, so please post the link far and wide if you like it.

I recently made a bunch of stick weaving needles, knitting needles, drop spindles, hand spun yarn, etc to sell at my shire's SCA event: Black Rose last weekend.

I just vacuumed a sweater sleeve. There is now a large hole in it. I don't knit, but my mom does. Is there any fix for it? Should I take it to her? Or is it time for the garbage?

Hey- I'm working on putting out a book of poetry, etc -- and am looking for some inspiration concerning the outside. im using quark for the inside layout and using normal white paper with some strips of velum to break things up a bit. So far for the outside I'm thinking about a rubber stamp design, but I'm not really sure how thick or thin lines can be for this. Wish I had some silkscreen stuff, really. So any ideas, pictures, whatever, would be appreciated. I want it to be beautiful.

Someone offered to knit my daughter a sweater if she could find a pattern for it. She wants a 'hoodie' with dinosaur scales down the back (and the top of the hood, too). She's a teeny tiny 17 year old, so even if it's a childs pattern that would probably work. I could have sworn I've seen one here before.. anybody have this, or a link to it?

Thanks so much!!

does anyone have advice on how best to adhere vellum to wood? i'm trying to print on clear vellum and then glue the vellum onto wood: i'm afraid that mod podge will warp the vellum, that a gluestick won't be strong enough, and i really need the edges of the vellum (which go up to the edges of the wood) to stay put and not... fold up at the corners. any ideas?

I have a very old Singer sewing machine. It is from 1952 and my husband's grandma gave it to me. It is still in good condition yet everytime I sew something I am constantly having to rethread the machine. It has gotten to the point that I no longer want to sew because it is such a hassle. So that having been said. I want a new machine. I am partial to Singer because that is what I learned to sew on. I am looking at the Singer 5050. I don't do a lot a sewing but want something that is easy to thread and has multiple stitches. Does any one have this one or what would you recommemd for around the same price range?

I'm getting married in December on a bit of a shoe string budget.  I only have less than $20 for shoes and no stores in town have the type of shoes I want, just some simple plain white flats....wouldn't think they'd be hard to find...but they are.  The only ones I've found online are usually $30+.  I have a black pair that would be perfect if they just weren't black!
I figure my least expensive options are to either paint them (they were $6 shoes I bought for graduation and didn't wear anyway...) or try to make some shoe covers.  Problem is I can't find any shoe cover tutorials online!!!

Please please help!!!!

I bought some of that Avery iron on transfer paper. I am having trouble getting into their website to look for letters so I can design something to print and iron onto fabric. Does anyone here know of any websites that have large Greek Letters? Thanks!!
