I've recently added on a new line of charm jewelry to the stuff that I make and I thought I'd share some of it:

Hey crafters!

I would really like to start sewing..I've been begging for a sewing machine from my fiance...and I think I might be getting on this Christmas! However, I've been looking on lj to find a community devoted to sewers that 1. stays current (most that I've found haven't been updated for years), or 2. are people trying to sell things they have made. I love this community because it's both up to date, and non-profit based! Are there any sewing communities like this one devoted just to sewing? Thanks everyone, and happy crafting :)

After making a doll for my son, I decided to make some for his cousins as well.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
All from fabric scraps (and a wee wonderfuls pattern). I tea dyed the muslin so the dollies would look more like their counterparts. and yes, in real life my son is the snazziest dresser of the three.

Violet Blue writes a column on sex for my favorite news site, SFGate. Today, her post was about sexy knitting, a couple of people who have books out with sexy knitting patterns. It's a great article. Read it here. Link is worksafe.

Just a question for people that make body products, since my area of experties is mostly in jewelry. :)

I'm about to go to work in a salon next month and I'm interested in using handmade facial products (cleansers, moisturizers, masks, scrubs, body lotions, massage oils, things like that)...and I want to try and make them myself. I've read a few books about it, but some of the recipes I've seen require a lotion base or cream base or some form of butter or beeswax. That's not the problem. The problem is, for some reason, I'm having a hard time finding the bases. I've found beeswax and mineral mask bases on a site called From Nature with Love but they don't have a lot of lotion or cream bases.

Do you guys buy your bases (and where from) or do you make them from scratch? Links and/or recipes would be greatly appreciated!

this thing was the first thing I attempted stenciling on (I only tried it like a week ago haha.)
it was too big (again, yes, I'm redoing everything in my wardrobe that is too big) so I fixed it, obviously.
the sleeves were then too tight so I put little slits in them.
oh stripes. )

I have a really weird question, but hey you girls like a challenge right? *L*

I collect balljoint dolls and like doing little photostories about them. One of my dolls is supposed to be 12 and the other 14 and I'd really like to think of some little craft thing I could do "with" them. No I'm not crazy, I just want to take photos where it looks like they're doing the craft. I have tons of beads, craft felt, origami paper, glue, markers, clay and various other craft stuff. I could also buy stuff if it was cheap enough. The 14 year old dotes on his little brother so he would be fine doing something a little below his age range.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

And a picture for reference )

Hangtags

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good place to get hang-tags printed? I've been printing my own on my home printer but it really doesn't seem like the best way to go about it. The ones I do are on cardstock and they measure about 3 inches by 2 inches, I think. If that makes a difference. Thanks in advance.

Edited to add:

This is what mine looks like, for an idea of the kind that I'm talking about:

and on the back it just has the website address and a little design.
