I thought I'd share a few things I've made very recently!

A while back I asked for suggestions as to what to do with a ton of styrofoam balls I had and the responses really inspired me!  I ended up loving the snowman someone suggested but decided to put my own twist on it:

Jack Skellington!

Alrighty, text only, first post. its a question.
yadda yadda

I was flipping though the channels a few days ago and I came upon creative Juice and the woman was making some necklaces out of paper. She used a kit, I went to the site and looked at all of the kits and none of them caught my eye. I had some of my own designs in mind, but I need paper hardener to make it wearable.
What exactly is paper hardener? Can I find it in a wal-mart, or will I have to go to a Michales or something. what brand, or whatever?

sorry its so vauge and such,
I googled paper hardener but it was for pictures and stuff. So I'm confused. Can I just buy this stuff anywhere?

Thanks alot!!!

Stenciling

I was stenciling a tote bag (my first stencil) and it bled. I am using freezer paper and the acrylic/fabric medium mixture.

Is there a reason why it bled? What did I do wrong?

Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I made a quick purse out of some crazy Roy Rogers fabric I had lying around. I haven't sewn since this summer, and I guess I missed it, because once I decided to do it I just worked straight through until I was done.

My dad loved it, and he said I should make more and sell them. I'm considering it, but I'm not sure if people would actually buy them. If you saw a purse like this in a little clothing store, would you think 'ooo cute', or 'what the hell is that doing here?' (I won't be insulted if it's the latter; like I said, I haven't sewn in six months!)

I was making a purse out of vinyl and I have had some problems. Is there a specific kind of stitch/needle/thread I should be using? My problem was that I can see the stitching from the outside, and it's not pretty. Should I have used some kind of glue/adhesive prior to sewing?

No, I am not leaving LJ!  I love the LJ.

I have just created a new blog for 2007 called "Growing Simplicity" at http://growingsimplicity.blogspot.com/.  It's going to focus specifically on simple living, gardening, crafting, sustainable living, and probably a little politics and spirituality here and there.  Some entries may get cross-posted here to LJ, others not.  LJ will be the place I let off all manner of steam, but the Growing Simplicity blog will be much more focused even though I won't guarantee it always stays on topic.  Please feel free to check it out and to join if you want.  I may make it community style but I haven't decided yet.

WHEE!

Hey guys,

I was fortunate enough to recieve a soldering iron as a Christmas gift.

I was wondering what kind of solder you guys use? As my dad informed me there are many kinds of solder with varying amounts of lead in them, and I was just wondering what you guys would recommend because I don't know what to buy.

And because I know you guys don't like text only entries, here are some of my recent projects.

Thanks for whatever information you can provide.

I'm home sick with a sore throat so I did some crafting. My favorite is this bird. I cut the body shape and sanded it months ago and thought it was finally time to do something with it.
