I remembered someone posted a tutorial for felt fortune cookies here. I checked the memories, but couldn't find it. I was hoping someone could link me?

Thanks. :)

EDIT: Also, does anybody know if I can buy pre-made beaded flowers from anywhere on the 'net?

thriftstore 28mm 49cent camera + double exposure + cross-processing = YUM!
my first attempt at this combination. I love the warm colors. I don't know if it's because I used expired film, or if it's just because. This was inspired by OuroborosX.

Hello everyone. I hope you all are staying warm!

I just got me a new sewing machine and would love to break it in. I am in need of a very easy purse pattern/tutorial. I have never made one so it would need to be basic. I will be using just normal fabric. (like them kind off the $1 rack at walmart! lol) I would like a messenger bag or something like it.

If anyone can help me this would be wonderfull! I so want to learn how to sew!

TY in advanced for all the help!

I accidentally left my jacket over a lamp the other day and it started to melt...I was lucky nothing burst into flame, but it did burn through the bottom of the jacket and into the pocket, where I had a wool hat (which also got burnt).

Basically, now I have a jacket that looks like a bite has been bitten out of it at the bottom (fixable, by means of a patch, I think)...but I'm wondering what to do about the hat...there's no hole in it, just a big ugly brown charred mark on the bottom edge. does anyone have any ideas about how to creatively disguise it? (It's one of those beanie hats...brown with a blue stripe along the bottom).

Question

For Valentine's Day, I'm stealing the pattern from a Ty Beanie (here) since my husband collects that set of pattern and I'm making him one of my own design and I want to make sure I get the "beanie" part in there too.

I'm pretty cheap when it comes to spending money, even on something I love.
I like to recycle things found around the house or in the closet, etc... for my craft purposes.

So I'm wondering if there's anything I can use as the bean pouches that are in each paw and the butt.

I've read about the possibility of pebbles or gravel in general but I don't have any small gravel around that I've noticed (I'm still going to look just in case I don't get the help I need).
I've also read online that using uncooked rice is an interesting method, especially when you roll it in essential oil, but I want to be able to wash the animal every once in a while since germs are icky.

I know the beans/pellets that are used for stuffing an animal can't possibly be too expensive, but I want to weigh my options before driving 30 minutes to 'town' and back... especially just for less than a cup full of stuffing beans.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help you can give.

I made a full-sized 'happy hat' from Marnie MacLean's pattern for myself a while ago, so while I'm on a pattern-resizing kick I decided to make my boyfriend's niece a mini-version:D

I can't wait to see how it looks on!

I really need a female form to draft clothing on. I can draw a human form okay, but it'd be easier if I could just find a nice figure online to print out and draw over. I think that I'm looking for might be called a croquis? Maybe not. I tried googling that and didn't come up with exactly what I was looking for. Most of the things that came up were drawings people had done, and I really just wanted the actual body outlines. I'd like a full body one, arms either at the side or straight out, and I prefer the legs to be apart. Anyone know where I can find what I'm looking for? Links? Images?

Thanks!

ETA:

Thanks to those who answered! You guys found exactly what I was looking for. For anyone who may also need something similar, it appears that googling the word "fashion" along with "croquis" will get what we're looking for.

Crafty girls:
Valentine's day is in 2 weeks. I was thinking of "getting" for my girl of 2.5 years some supplies with which to make a scrap book. I guess I'm just wondering, how would you feel if someone did this for you? I am just picturing us working together on it...plus she is way more creative than me so I think any sort of "us" scrapbook deserves her touch.
I hope this isn't that whiney "what should I get my ___ for ___?" kind of entry, I have an idea, just want your input.

Now some things I made for Christmas gifts...for your viewing pleasure )
Thanks in advance for any V-day advice you may have for me :)
