Okay, so I'm going to a ball next Wednesday (which is great :D) and my dress is picked out (which is even greater :D). But the shoes I have to go with them were borrowed by my psycho 17-year-old sister and now they're all scuffed! I haven't got a picture but they're turquoise, faux-leather material and have dark scuffs at the sides where the toes of both meet. Any ideas how to get rid of it? It seems to be ingrained in the material now, so even a suggestion of paint or some form of camouflage (sp?) for it? I'd really appreciate it ^^

I made this valentine for my sweetie, going to give it to him tonight. This is the first valentine I've ever made him, we weren't supposed to buy each other anything this year so i thought i'd give it a try it.
I'm a bellydancer and he is a juggler... i thought i'd do a collage with a victorian feel to it. its more interesting than a card anyway.

i didn't want to make the image to big so its hard to read some of the writing.

All of you knitters out there. Are the cast on stitches considered the first row?

I.E. I'm told to cast on 10 stitches and I have to knit 14 rows. Is my cast on considered one of the 14 rows?

Thanks in advance!

Hey fellow crafty people!  I'm not sure if anyone's posted this link before, but it has a bunch of free bag patterns!  I stumbled upon it while looking for a lunch sack tutorial because I lost the last one I printed off!  Check it out, and sorry if it's already been posted in here before!

Does anyone know if an origami or paper folding pattern exists that will make a little paper hoodie sweatshirt? Quick googling only brings up actual sweatshirt garments with origami printed on them.

Here's a "card" I made for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. I made it in the same way I make my mail art cards. I had so much fun making it. The hanger is beaded crochet with wire. I never would have thought about doing that, but I'm editing a book right now for Interweave Press that uses a lot of beaded crochet, both with wire and yarn.

Here's the other side )

my best friend wanted a new purse.
i had this idea of sewing a purse for her out of vinyl.
but i didn't know how to sew vinyl. but i love her enough to learn.
she deserves special things, just like everyone else.

Made this for my boy. Isn't really a V-day gift (everyday is valentines for us)... but happened to be ready for today. hm. Stole his extra key and planted it in his car at school before I had to go to work. Got like a million missed calls and texts, then he showed up with flowers for me. aw :)

I just finished a spyder plushie I've been working on. I loom knitted it, and all in all I think I'm pretty proud of it.

What do you guys think? )

Well today I set out to do something...since the mid-west bizzard decided to keep me from going to work..and I completed it in an hour tops!  I was looking for an easy lunch bag, but I didn't have any velcro, so I ad-libbed it and made a bow tie.  Sorry for the incredibly crappy pictures, I didn't have my junky digital camera, so I used my cell phone camera!  Colors are obviously much better in person! X-posted in sew_hip.

Maybe after all the roads get plowed I can hit the fabric store for some insulation and some vinal fabric to make a waterproof one.  This will do for now!

oh yea!

Anyone on here who has any experience making cocktail hats? After adopting Dita as my definite style icon some time ago, I´ve been anxious to give it a try. But, I don´t know where to start. Mostly, I´d like to know what are good materials to use as a base for a beginner and how to fasten them... HELP ME SWEETPEAS!

Since my BF is out of the country for Valentine's Day, I decided to make a bunch of my co-workers my valentine instead. Nine silly pictures behind the cut, resized for easier loading.
