So you know how I asked for bonnet help last night? Well, I figured it out, more or less. I need to trim the pattern down so it's smaller both in the head part and the brim, and get interfacing for the brim, but I think it's a fairly decent job, for just looking at pictures and cutting paper up til it looked about right! It's lined and everything! The fabric is this crappy polyester stuff I had a ton of (Mom made bathroom curtains out of it, then donated the fabric to me when she changed the decor); when I make them for real, I'll make them out of cute little floral prints, probably. Maybe gingham, hee! And some nice cotton, or maybe denim or cordouroy for fall! Anyway, enough rambling, pictures!
( Bonnet bonnet bonnet! )I also made the invitations for my Polka Dot Party! And I promise I'll make a post once the party's done with pictures of the crafts, favours, and foods.
( Seeing spots (sorry, I couldn't resist) )If anyone has more suggestions for the polka dot-themed party, I'd still love to hear them! One of the things I came up with was prizes for who's wearing the most polka dots, and who's wearing the least (we'll approximate, of course). The prize for most is a candleholder, prize for least is a belt from Target that was in their $1 bins. (If anyone wants polka dot stuff, go check it out, they have lots--headbands, notebooks, magnets, all kinds of things!)
Along that same vein (I know, I know, I'm almost done), is there any reason that painting on the outside of a little glass votive holder with acrylic paint would be bad? Should I seal it with something? What if I decoupaged tissue paper onto the outside (so it's really smooshed down good)? I just don't want anything to melt/burn/catch on fire.
Thanks for looking! :)
