I had a pair of jeans with a humungous rip at the knee (I wore them so much that the knee just went kaput lol) so I cut off the legs, up the crotch and filled in the hole with the leg pieces to make it a skirt. It looks great, but I don't have any fabric glue and being that I hand-sewed the seams (opposite the big thick seam) the big thick pieces are sticking up. My question is this: the back of the E6000 package says it works on fabric, but would it hold up through machine washing (and drying, but that's not as important as the washing)? I just don't want to make a trip all the way to get fabric glue if I don't have to (I'm in the boonies lol). Thanks for your help! =)

Hi,
I'll like to make my own scented body butter which lasts long. Im thinking of using shea, mango and cocoa butter. Can I mix these butters together and just a few drops of oil followed by the fragrance oil? I wont be making a lot as I'll want to experiment with different scents. Anyway do you have recommendations for fragrance oil?

In celebration of my AP tests being 3/4 over, my braces being removed and beautiful weather, I decided to make something fun and comfy to frolic around. A month ago, my grandma gave me this adorable striped knit fabric that I thought would be perfect for something summery.

This isn't especially craft related, so obviously, mods delete if need be! However, I figured this'd be the kind of place to go for advice.

I'm at university, and one of my friends has recently discovered the list of things Royal Mail will and will not send. As such, he's sent me a banana. With the address written on it. And "perishable" on the other side. Obviously, I wish to preserve this for posterity.

...So has anyone got any ideas of how to preserve a banana?!

Thanks!

Dorothy is an unhappy chickadee. She is unhappy because people only pay attention to her during egg hunt, but forget about her for the rest of the year. She wants to get your attention by chirping loudly, nastily. Even in her sleep. Luckily you don't understand a word she is saying.

Made with recycled wool sweater. Dorothy and other objects are needle felted on, decorated with embroidery.

This way please! )

I have some very pretty beach worn pieces of muscle shell (the insides are all iridescent, sort of like abalone but on a black background instead of pale) and I'd like to make at least one into a pendant-nautical stuff is big this season but I think it'll just be gorgeous anytime.

I was wondering if I could make a clay topper (to avoid drilling through shell in most instances and in one to close the top that's a little too broken) that the jump ring would go through or if baking the clay on the shell might wreck the shell.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Sorry it's text only, grad school kinda takes away any time to craft, but if I'm successful with this project I'll put up pics.

Using Oborochan's tutorial I made an octo loving friend of mine a lil Octopus cell phone charm.

Mine's not neaaaaaaarly as cute as hers as my tenticals were way to big but  it 's very similar to the octo's my friend draws.
I apologize in advance for my camera is crap

I took my first sewing class and learned how to make a tote bag. It seemed pretty easy. So my instructor suggested I play around at home with the sewing machine. I made a purse. I'm still making more and maybe I'll sale some. I'm making a skirt next.

It wasn't hard really. Two kisses, saran wrap, 2 wire leaves, florist tape, and a pipe cleaner was all it took. I made four so two to my mom and two to my MIL; and I may get more stuff from the store and make some for more moms in my life.
