I'm absolutely in love with the pink dress that Carrie is wearing in this picture:

I was just wondering if anyone knew if a ruffled fabric like that exists? And if so, where I can buy it? Or is it something that has to be created that way from a plan fabric?

Thanks!

I've been taking a pottery class. These are the first two pieces that I've finished glazing.

Cut for pictures. )

DIY heart

thanks to everyone who helped suggest where i could get beans to fill this heart
because i was broke and couldnt find anywhere around here to get them, i ended up buying a toy from the op shop and borrowing its beans for this.

its about fist sized, and jsut perfect to hold, a little heavy and firm.

it turned out a little more 'craft' and a little less anatomically correct than i hoped for, if i was to knit it again, i'd make the heart itself a little bigger, cause the veins were as small as i could make them and still be able to sew them up and pull them inside out, but im pretty happy with it.

I've had this project on my desk for a while now. Everything has been cut out I just needed to sew it all up. SO here is the finished zombie hand puppet. This is only half of the set, there is going to be another puppet who isn't a zombie yet for hours of fun playing zombies try to take over the world.

The button versions were a hit, so I also made 2-1/4" pocket mirrors. The background is artwork I created in my visual journal pages. After you've gotten your art on, the mirror is perfect to make sure you don't have paint on your face before going out to get your grove on.

So I've been sewing up a storm for the Concession Streetfest and Toronto Comic Con. I finished up a bunch of hobo bags tonight. I made one for my mom to use when we go to New York city this weekend.

(Ignore the Hello Kitty boxers) She wanted a longer strap and a velcro closure. It turned out well in my opinion.

Now my question is we are heading to New York for the weekend. Well, mainly we'll be in Manhattan. Is there any fabric /craft stores I should look for? I have plenty of shopping to do but U.S. stores always carry different fabric than here in Canada. I'd love to come home with some new stuff.

Thanks!

Hello, all. I need a little bit of help and before anyone asks, yes, I checked the memories.

I'm trying to make charms with some origami paper stars that I have. My problem that I'm having is that I'm using Mod Podge to cover the origami stars so that they won't unravel or get squished; I basically want them to be hard so that they won't get ruined if I use them in jewelry or on cell phone charms.

I was wondering if anyone had any alternatives to Mod Podge (or the Puzzle Saver that the put out, 'cause I used that, too) that will make them hard enough for things like this. Would I be able to brush casting resin on them to make them hard?

Thank you for your help!
