My mom asked me to make her a bag to carry a few little inspirational books that she likes to read. I found the fabric in the remnants at JoAnns (which is closing...I am so sad) It is lined in light pink fabric. This is the first bag I've made with a flap. The next time I'm going to make it wider so that the straps can be attached inside instead of to the back.

The button is just for show it closes with velcro. She wanted a strap and said that it could be either long or short...I used a D ring and snaps to make a strap that can be two sizes. Shown is the smaller handle size.

Oh and the ruler that is there to show size...is actually 11 inches long...weird I know, but it was cute.

Crown

My little sister is going to need a crown next year as Grand Worthy Advisor for Rainbow Girls. She'll be doing a lot of traveling and wearing it often, so it needs to be durable. She really loves this crown, but the creator has not responded to her or my mother after several emails. We wonder if the lady doesn't want to commission to people in the US. Does anyone know of someone that makes crowns or could make something similiar? We realize it would be slightly different, due to copyright and all, but my sister really has her heart set on a crown like this. it reminds her of fairytales and none of the other girls will have had a crown like it.

This post is just a sneak preview to get you excited about a project I'm currently working on. What you see here is the (almost) 1/4 of it that I have done so far:

(Ignore the fact that I worked the bottom section backwards and that I ran out of blue along the way.)

Can you guess what it is?

Heyo. I found this backpack in the garage. It's grey, rectangular, and I think it would make a nice robot head. Any ideas? I have acrylic paint.

I was planning on starting a messenger bag tomorrow, maybe something I can use for school. I was thinking about using pieces of an old towel to make it a bit thicker and maybe a little more "waterproof". Like I would use regular fabric, but just sandwich the towel in between it. I was thinking in case it rained, the towel would make it less likely for the water to soak all the way through to the stuff inside. So I was wondering , has anyone done this before? And does this even seem like a good idea, or am I way off base? :P And feedback would be much appreciated.

I recently bought a previously-worn shirt on Ebay, and there is a good amount of cracking on the image located on the front of the shirt. Is there any way to get rid of the cracking or at least reduce it?

It's finished! I started knitting this Multidirectional Diagonal Scarf about 2.5 weeks ago. I would knit a triangle, or a few triangles, every now and then.. set it down, work on another project, and come back to it. While I can usually finish projects in short amounts of time (one day, a few days, or up to a week), scarves are another story - I don't make them very often, because they are SO LONG and the knitting starts to feel too repetitive. However, I really love this colorway and how the scarf turned out. It's a little scratchy, but warm, and I think I can get used to it. I've still got a little bit left of my second ball of this yarn, and I still have a third ball! So, I think I'll be knitting a second one of this scarf (twinsies!) to give during the winter holidays.

Yarn: Taida "Laga" in color "Summer Medley", 65% Mohair / 25% Wool / 10% Acrylic
Needles: US 8 (5.0mm) bamboo circulars
Pattern: Multidirectional Diagonal Scarf

Project #37/50.

So I just bought a new car! It's a 2005 Ford Taurus, it's a merlot color. I want to make accessorries like a steering will cover, cd visor and a trashbag. Anyone have any ideas for patterns? I've done google searches and found nothing too grand.
