i was wondering what would be some good ideas on how to make a cd case.
i thought about buying a hardcover book and gluing little envelopes in the pages to put the cd's in, but realized it wouldn't really work.
give me your ideas on what i could do to make one, because ones that you buy are ugly.

A while back, I saw a post (possibly in this community) where a girl had done freehand embroidery piece while on a roadtrip. It inspired me to try it out for myself. My mom started teaching me to embroider when I was in Kindegarten, but I've always only used the skill for little things, like a small embellishment on a pair of pants, and I've always used a pattern.

I've been working on this on and off for the past couple months. I keep picking it up and then putting it down ... it's essentially what I do while watching TV in between bigger projects.

I used flourescents and metallics a bit (which I've never used before). They're a pain in the ass, for sure. If I remember corectly, the piece I was inspired by had buttons. I was originally going to do embroidery only, but I was making some necklaces and had my embroidery on the couch next to me. I noticed that I had some beads that matched my floss colors perfectly, so I threw a few of those in.

I'm not done with it yet. Or maybe I am. I don't know yet. I also have no clue what I'll make it into. If anybody has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Also, if anybody remembers that post, I'd love a link so I can add it to this.

I am in dire need to fabric shop advice!!!

I recently moved to Daisy, GA (about an hour west of Savannah), and I haven't found any fabric/yarn shops around here. I'm having some serious withdrawls. anyone know of any places I should check out?

THANK YOU!

Super sorry if this shouldn't be here... delete as necessary or let me know and I'll delete it. Also, if someone could point me where this would be more appropriate...

So I'm thinking about opening an etsy shop. What I want to know is A, who has Etsy shops, B, what do you think and C, what kind of stuff sells well? I do recons of tee shirts and also crochet and dabble in knitting and jewelry. I want whatever I list to be able to sell and not just sit there.

Just looking to make a bit of extra cash on the side. And just so this post isn't completely boring:

Made out of a HUGE white tee. I'm super proud of it and definitely planning to make more.

Ciao,
~Brinn

PS: x-posted a bit...

first i wanted to thank everybody who commented when i needed help the other day. you guys are peaches.

aaaand then i wanted to show off what i made with everybody's help: a kickin' reversible skirt for my goddaughter with elastic/drawstring waist, 30 inches around with plenty of room to grow (also easy to size up or down, just in case). also, the flowered fabric used to be a vintage pillowcase and the striped and solid pink were thrifted yardage. ;)

it's going to the birthday girl tonight - i hope she likes it!

Cat is such amazing animal.  When they put up their paws, you have no idea if they are going to give you a cat massage, or give you a good scratch.  You won't know until the paw lands on you.

喵= meow in chinese.  Because we speak to our cats in chinese, I bet they speak in chinese cat language too.

So, this afternoon I bought an awesome stone garden gnome at a local flea market that looks pretty much like this.

I want to paint him to look like this.

Our love of the Travelocity roaming gnome aside, what paint do you think I should use? I've done some googling on "painting garden stone accessories" and I can't find anything. Hopefully you can help!

I'm looking for a community about crafting/creative spaces/studios.... I thought I saw the link to one posted on here not too long ago, where people could post pictures of their crafting spaces. I'd really like to find it again. :/

Thanks.
