I have this fabric that I got in the remnants section of my local fabric store. I'm making bags out of it that I want to sell, but I want to make sure that the company that makes this fabric allows that. Here's an ebay link to show you what the fabric looks like. I also have some other fabric, same company.

I'm searching and I can't find any info on this company. Does anybody know anything about this fabric and/or company that could help me?

Thanks in advance!

It took two years, five sharpies, some white paint, and a sheet of freezer paper, but they're done :)

I thought I messed up the sides for a second, hahah.

How does one make a print of their artwork? I'm making something for a gallery, and I usually wouldn't want to sell, but what's the point then, right? So I thought I'd stick a price on it and see what happens. But I want to preserve the image. If I like it enough, I might wanna hang it in my own house or something - without keeping the original.

Will post pics when complete :)

We took a day off from deck work yesterday so that Ronzi could watch seventeen hours of Doris Day movies on the I-Barely-Have-A-Pulse Channel™. *Shiver!* I turned him ever six hours to inhibit the formation of bed soars.

I did a bit of experimentation and finalized the sizing of the wood pieces I need for my craft caboodle boxes. The boxes are just a smidge under one foot square, painted the trim color in my craft studio, and lined with felt on the bottom so that they slide on the shelves nicely. I found and bought the “card catalog” style label pulls that I wanted and bought eighteen online. These will be on the front of the boxes organizing all my crud into various categories like “glue” or “beads” etc. Click the pic above to see the alpha box!

With the scrap wood that I had, I made some fun coasters too but don’t have any pictures of those yet.

[x-posted at my LJ]

i used to do pressed flower art professionally.
i got so disgusted with the management at that job, i haven't really looked at flowers since i left; but now i'm ready to try it again my way.
i've spent the last couple days researching and ordering items.

my main thing right now is whether to press the flowers myself and therefore try some different flowers and different techniques that i developed while i was at that job, which would require a sizable investment in materials and flowers OR or i can buy pre-pressed flowers until i can afford to buy & press myself. limited selection and quantity, but consistent quality.

i also worry about humidity in my apartment since i have a window unit. a base model dehumifier is ~$150. i could probably press without a dehumidifier, but the last thing i want is an apartment full of moldy flowers. nevermind all the wasted money. :/

examples of the work i used to do )

any advice or ideas?

Thanks for the motivation "Johnny Smoke's Mom"! :)

I make dolls, or 'soft creatures' as I tend to call them. They range from monsters to voodoo dolls to bears. I pretty much make stuff up as I go and I've always hand-stitched them. The novelty of that has worn off (and the quality of my hand-sewing is questionable). So I'm considering buying a sewing machine.

Question: should I take a sewing class first? Or is it fairly easy to learn how to sew on a machine. Particularly given that I'm just going to be doing straight-ish line stitching to make the bodies of my soft creatures?

Thank you in advance! :) P.S. I live in NZ and there aren't many sewing classes here in Wellington. So I'm kinda hoping you'll tell me to just learn as I go!

Sorry I haven't posted in forever. Life has taken a turn for super busy and my amis have been neglected.

Anyway, here's some of the newer guys! If you watch me on DA, then you've already seen them.
