so, this may seem really weird or ridiculous, but I figure I should at least try, right?

I took photo classes over the summer and we HAD to do test strips or they took us out back and shot us.

At first I was like, "Rwar! I don't want to do extra work!" but after a while, I didn't really mind because it got me better full page prints and wasted less paper. Also, about half way through I started holding onto them. And I used them to collage my writing notebook for my fiction class.

I was wondering if any of you happened to have test strips, contact sheets or just pictures you don't want any more lying around that you wouldn't mind "donating" to me =) I want to cover more of my notebooks and possibly other things with them.

I would even pay for postage if you would part with them

I found this bag of granny squares this weekend at a yard sale. I want to make something with them but I have a few limitations with regard to what will be allowed in the house. I have come up with some ideas, what do you think?

I could really use some inspiration as well as ideas about how to connect them.

My boss went to Maine and they were having a bead bazaar so they picked up some of these for me.

Hello! I'm looking for "photo charms" to make pendants. I'm not sure if they have an actual name. Basically, a charm that is like a small picture frame.

Does anyone know of a website that sells them in bulk for a decent price? Even better if the site offers a few different styles.

THANKS SO MUCH!

Can anyone point me to a tutorial on how to make Dreamcatchers?

These are some purse-like bags that I made a while ago and I'm just getting around to posting them. At some point in time I have to post the cupcake-y bag I made for myself, as well as the halloween candy one, and the one I'm making for my mother. But for now...

I just got a drop spindle to learn on and some gorgeous wool rovings from FatCatKnits on Etsy. It's my very first handspun (mini) skein of yarn, so don't be too harsh! I'm just in love with the colors..

this is really a response to [livejournal.com profile] madfishmonger's post from a few days ago.......but i thought i should make a new post since so many of her comments were from other people wanting to know the same thing.

and yes, you can machine stitch sticky backed vecro!

it just takes a bit of patience but it did not ruin the machine. i just kept some cotton balls and rubbing alcohol near to wipe off the needle and my fingers every so often. i stitched with a very slow pace and everything was fine. it's not something i'd do all the time, but if sticky back is all you have you can definitely use it for a project.

fwiw- i didn't just do a piece of it, i did yards and yards and yards of it as elastic straps for extremely heavy egyptian wigs. my boss had accidentally bought sticky back and we couldn't exchange it.

since you guys love photos, here is one of the smaller frames wigs we built. the straps are underneath it and manage a lot of the shape. we built like 130 of these things in about 3 weeks. truly insane.

Hey everyone. It's my first time posting.
I was just curious what does everyones sewing tables/rooms look like. I'm looking for some inspiration, I want to get a new sewing table and organize mine, here it is:

The sewing table I currently have was found at a Goodwill with a vintage Necchi sewing machine which I plan on getting serviced so I can use it!
I've checked the memories on this, I just want to be clear: I am looking for pictures.
Thanks!

hi,

i know the pleasant company used to market patterns for their doll clothes and the american girl doll company no longer does. do the standard 18" patterns sold by butterick, simplicity, vogue, mccalls, etc fit these dolls well?
