OK, so with the airy-ness of the FP Shawl and the bias-stretch of the A & C Scarves, I thought that using 3 strands of Lion Brand Prints Chenille was the way to go to make a nice, snuggly wrap. After all, I had 9 skeins, which should be more than enough to make a 70 X 210 nail wrap... Right?

Yeah, not so much. I ran out of yarn 3 nails from the end and had to finish with some Lion Brand Thick and Quick Chenille. And the drape? Non - existent! This thing could practically stand up by itself! So, it's now a Rug and very soft on tender feet:

This past weekend my best friend came to visit so we went a little crazy making Christmas ornaments. The whole project started out as a fun craft for my almost 3 yr old daughter, but it wasn't long before she was over it while we were just getting started!

Hi guys and gals! I'm back again to post yet another opportunity to win a prize. The 6th crochet challenge on Craftster has been posted, and I wanted to make sure as many people know about it as possible.

This months theme is Combined Techniques. That means you can combine crochet with any other technique, whether it's knitting or embroidery, as long as crochet is the main body of the work.

See the thread on Craftster here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=207585.0. Enter by December 2 at 11:59 PM EST and you could win a $25 gift certificate for handspun yarn or dyed roving!

From reading the memories I've found that I can buy resin at Michael's. However - I am in Canada and CANNOT seem to find it. I asked a girl working there where it would be and she just asked me if it was used for painting.
My question is... if it is sold in Canadian Micheal's where would it be located?????

Thanks ever so much.

EDIT: So I found it! Thanks. I'm not buying it though because my best friend reminded me that we work in a fiberglass boat factory and I could just "find" some catalyst and resin there for free!!!

Hi!

I have an hour twice a day where I can craft! I don't like knitting or crocheting- typical subway crafts.

I am learning how to embroider and applique, and really enjoying that. What are some other crafts that you would recommend for the subway? I'm hoping to spend the time efficiently working on holiday gifts. I'm NOT asking for gift ideas- I know there's another community for that. Not that I remember what it's called... :)

TIA!

Awhile back, I posted an inprogress picture of a big ruffly gown I'd been working on, that got a lot of positive responses. Well, it's been finished for a few months now (I just kept forgetting to post it like I said I would), and worn to a few cons. And as a bonus, a couple others I made between then and now.

Photos this way....... )

So (Hello, btw :p) before I go make my first attempt at screen printing using the info I found in memories on here, I'd like to ask a quick question: I'm using sheer curtains, should I iron it first(can you even iron these things?)? I notice a couple of wrinkles and am worried if that'll affect the outcome negatively. No amount of stretching on the embroidery hoop seems to get them out for more than a few seconds.

Thanks :D

Sooo I had a few college viewbooks laying about that I just couldn't throw out. There were so many pretty pictures: many random art pieces, some vivid color shots. But what was I to do with them?

As though a message from the crafty gods, I had just received my latest issue of Craft magazine (<3 <3 <3) --complete with Japanese Stab Binding tutorial, perfect for my paper in need of purpose.

My version is slightly modified to accommodate for some first-time errors.

Here's the book I ended up with:

What's it made out of, you ask? )

I've made more of my usual accessories, but with new and different plastic flowers:

Blue, White and Yellow Vintage Flowers Headband

These were more expensive to make, since the flowers came all the way from Latvia eheh, but I love them!
