After looking through the memories and such, and not really finding what I'm looking for I was hoping that you lovely ladies could possibly help me.

With Christmas approaching soon, I've been shopping and such for my wonderful boyfriend. I remember once while at Spencer's Gifts we found a "sexual coupon book" that he expressed interest in (surprise, eh?). Well, I hate how generic they are, and I was hoping to make one for his birthday (a week after Christmas) that was personal for us.

http://www.thisnext.com/item/968B6202/IOU-Sex-Coupon-Book-the-gift - Something like this.

I'd like the pages be preforated, if possible, but mostly I'm just trying to make something similar.  Let me know if you have any ideas!  Thanks!

Sorry if this is somewhere in the memories and I couldn't dig it out >_<

But I am in the process of making a gift for my boyfriend (aptly named "porn shelves") from one of those cheap plastic shelving units. I spray painted the outside, but the paint keeps chipping and it's a pain in the ass. I got a spray matte finish but that doesn't really seem to keep it from chipping. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a finish I could use (preferably spray) that would keep the paint from chipping off of a plastic surface?

Thanks in advance, and sorry for text-only. Maybe I'll post some pics when I'm done.. X-rated ones. (On a side note: some porn is just weird..)

Someone please translate this for me: "work 2 dc, 1dc in next stitch"
It's supposed to be a pattern for a hat I found here. I tried googling but I still can't figure what it means! Thanks!

If you loved the fabric in [livejournal.com profile] hkcreations's zodiac skirt, I found it on sale! Fabric.com has it for $3.14/yard right now. They also have sheet-width linen for super cheap. mmm linen...

I don't think I've ever posted to this community before... HI! How are you? good I hope... :)
Anyway, I crocheted a hat... kinda 30's depression era in shape, but with hippy-ish colors... think the heroine from "King Kong" meets "Haight / Ashbury"... odd description, but here you go:

I used single crochet, and kinda made it up as I went.. no pattern or anything... flying solo.

Does anyone know where I can get new rubber seal pieces for those lock lid jars? I got two from Savers today that need new ones. I wanna make sugar scrubs and put them in the jars. That's crafy, right?

Have another look at the picture.

If you are Tara from the Handmade Necklace swap, don't look or you'll ruin the surprise! I actually don't know if she's in this community, but just so be safe . . .

Anyway, I made this necklace for a swap I'm in. I wanted to do something a little different than the beading I normally do, so this is what I came up with. Click here for photos! )

Thanks for looking!

I never thought I'd actually make a post here because I'm such an extreme craft novice, but based on the fact that we recently bought and have been playing the heck out of Katamari Damacy, and that I have a whole bunch of felt loitering in my sewing stuff (and, of course, this post helped me actually get my ass in gear ;) ) I decided to make a little Prince of All Cosmos to give my husband for Christmas. I only started it the other night so I don't have much done yet, but so far I'm pretty pleased with how it's shaping up.

Katamari, do your best! )

Thanks for looking!

Another Christmas card post...though mine are Holiday cards, strictly speaking.

Why does every Holiday involve vampires for me? )

Hello all! I am a forever lurker, but I gotsa question that I hope is okay to post. I saw a comment to an entry, that I can't find anymore and that I'm pretty sure was in this community, from a person saying that they had thought to make a personalized monopoly board. I think this is pretty much one of the best ideas ever and wanted to ask said person how exactly they're going to go about it/went about it/etc. So if you are here, please let me know!

If this isn't an ok post, I apologize!

I am frusterated:( I am trying to make my  BF'S mommy a present for her birthday and nothing I tried worked out,  I tried writing happy birthday on an egg, and I tried it on a heart both flops, so finally I put gorgious stickers on card stock, then wrote happy birthday under the stickers,  one sticker was crooked and i lost patience pulling it off so the cardstock surface ripped off, the sticker I put on itkind of hides it, but you can still tell somewhat about the owie. well birthday was crooked so I erased it now there's eraser marks, an it don't fit in the frame I got, but I know how to fix that, there's some room to spare on the edge I can cut some off then I am thinking of writing on the bottom of the frame for mom, but I don't know how it'll turn out. I'm feeling pretty anxious about the whole prezzie. I've put it away for now cause I've learned anxious energy can make something turn out wrong or go wrong when you're frazzled, but I REALLY want it to be nice.

i know this is going to sound really dumb, but, where do i get essential oils? like for lip balm and soap and stuff. i mean, specifically. i know health food stores, but where in them? store i have around me are: publix, whole foods, target, wal-mart... what does it even look like? will it say the words "essential oil" on it? i feel like ive been looking and looking and just cant find or dont really know what im looking for. and extract is not the same as essential oil, right? and flavoring is not the same either, right? sorr if these questions are too specific or nit picky or dumb, but i really just dont know.

thank you all so much!

Hi, all! I need your craftspertise.

I would like to weld (or at least attach in some way) together some lengths of 18 gauge wire that I have. My plan is to make some beaded ornaments, and was imagining a six- or eight-pointed star made out of three or four lengths of wire, crossed over at the midpoints and sealed where they join at the center. (Hope that makes sense.) I don't know if tiny little welding tools exist or if they work... basically, what would be an ideal tool would be needlenosed pliers that could actually squeeze together and melt metal. Do any of you know if a small tool like that exists, or have any other idea what might work? I've done some Googling, but I don't even really know what to search for.
