Does anyone know where I can find directions to make candy cane shot glasses? I thought I remembered seeing directions posted last Christmas on a crafty site, but I can't remember which one and my Google-fu has failed me. Has anyone tried to make them before? Is it even possible?

I saw this really cool floral decoration at Michael's recently and it was quite expensive so I decided I was going to make one.

Mine, however, doesn't have the lights shining between and around the tree branches, but I put a string of 100, white mini lights in among the floral section, and I think it turned out really great. I picked the branches off our lawn. The store's branches were straight up instead of fanned-out like mine are and were off-white I believe. I made mine for hardly anything using a large, metal pot I bought there dramatically reduced after Fall, went to the dollar store for the floral and doves, and used wadded-up newspaper to hold the branches in place.

I wish you could see it lit for the full effect. :o)

Two large pics beyond cut.

I have made this funky swirly wire weave ring, with a turqouise stone at the centre. There is a slideshow, of the different angles of it on my journal, here at the link

I've decided that I love embroidering kitchen towels. Of course, I'm only assuming that everyone I embroider them for like having them as much as I do. But what's not to like?

I made these for a friend, I couldn't remember if she had a color scheme or theme to her kitchen, but she does love ice cream, so I came up with these. I freehanded the designs rather than tracing or transferring them, so they're quite basic.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream )

Does anyone know where I can score a men's shirt pattern with French cuffs (the ones that you stick cufflinks through)?  My husband really loves the look, but it's hard finding interesting button-down shirts with them...or any at all, really.

Heeeelp!

Here are several new pendants. Size is approximately 2.25 inches (incl. bail) x 1.75 inches across.

I call this one Peppermint Dream and is done in shades of red and pink with a cut out heart in one cheek with a wire inside the cut out heard with three small beads. I love how the colors on this one turned out! It is just so fun and cool

I saw a pattern for a roll-up pencil/pen holder once upon a time. Are there any links to this online?

Ra? )

Edit: Actually I have a question for all the felter friends: I've been looking for white wool roving, but seems like all the "white" rovings are natural roving without dye. So it always ends up creamy or yellowish, not totally white.

I've been working on a "secret" project that needs white wool, but just when I thought I found the perfect snow white wool, it became cream yellow after being felted! So my piece is totally trashed. I am totally bummed! I used poly fiber as a base and I really like it ;o; (should have taken some progress pics) I'm not sure if I have the strength to redo it ;o;

Back to Rabbid. I used poly fiber as a base again and was going to use that white roving but after knowing how it will turn out, I leave it as is. So my question is: Is it possible to find snow white wool roving for needle felting purpose? Can I dye natural roving white?

Well, my husband's at work, so I finished my Prince today. The pictures are pretty dark so it looks like I used black for a lot of it, but the sides of his head are dark green and his legs are purple. He's as screen accurate as I could get. ;)

In case you're wondering, he's about 15 1/2 cm tall (19 cm including his antenna). I'm going to try to make a Katamari for him at some point, but my husband should be about halfway home by now, so that's going to have to wait for another day. :D

I'm in the middle of re-decorating my room (suck = living at home while in college). I wanted to wait until I was finished, but I'm just too damn impatient. Some things photographed are listed as things like "sheet sets" or "...yards of fabric", but all you get to see is what they've been made into. :) The prices are listed because I originally made this post for a thrifting community, but I thought you guys might enjoy seeing my space, too :)

So here's a sneak peek )
