So I got a sewing machine for christmas, i've never owned one before, i've always just used the ones at school.
I finally got around to playing with it.

First Project on it..so be nice!

Seeing as I was supposed to be studying for exams, the crafty bug struck – and I just had to learn to make jewelry using jumprings and such.

My very first attempt )

Also, I'd like to make a beaded "engagement ring", something silly. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions/links to patterns they like?

Ok, So Im going to Anime Boston, and im making an Ulala costume. Ulala is a character from an old Dreamcast game called Space Channel 5. I can make the costume, but im having a hard time with the boots. heres a picture:
Im not sure if i should buy a cheap pair of white go-go boots and try to paint them, or make covers for a pair of my exsisting platform boots (which, considering im short and will be at a crowded convention, i could really use the added height). But if i make covers, would it be hard? O if i paint a pair of white boots, what would i use to paint them?
also, anyone have any ideas on how to make the gun? I was thinking id sew one out of felt, but that seems a bit lame.
another also.. Can you paint on vinyl? Im making the outfit out of orange vinyl, and the SC5 logo is blue and white. think i could paint it?
 THANKS SO MUCH!!!

I was having sewing machine problems. As in, I'm a noob and at the mercy of its idiosyncracies.

First is a box I made to house all my sewing supplies. It's based on the anime Sailor Moon.

The next is a rice filled therapy bag. It's my first sewing project! The fabric is fantastic, but I really wanted a boo bag. (I may have ODed on the tea tree oil fragrance)

Projects 1 and 2 )

I have a sweater that I spilled paint on like 3 years ago. I decided to cover the paint splotch with iron on cupcakes and letters. The front has cupcakes on the pouchy pocket thing (the thing over your stomach) and the back says FATASS on it :)

I want to put writing on the front too, but I don't have any more A's or S's! Here are my ideas:
1. XXL HUNGER
2. MUCHO HUNGRY (or MUCHO HUNGER)
3. I LOVE FOOD (with an O being a cupcake)
4. MORE FOOD PLZ (again, an O being a cupcake)
5. I'M HUNGRY
6. UNFILLED or UNFED

Which do you think I should put?
I want it to be something that's funny without being tacky (like those shirts that tweenage girls are wearing now that say stuff like "I'm a princess!!!!" or like "spoiledz" eww) but not seem like I have issues with my weight or anything (cause you know, the back says FATASS).
Any new ideas would be great too :)

Me and the apple tree

Now I have an apple tree on my couch.
It´s stuffed with polyfill (lots of it).

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Hi all, It's been a while since I've posted. Here's some of my new stuff I put together :)

I just love taking pictures of the jewelry like this. It reminds me of those Eye Spy books where you have to look for certain things in a pile of treasures! Maybe I'll make a little book like that someday!

Hi friends in the craft world.

love love love this community!! loong time watcher. this is my posting cherry.

I have a important question :

My boyfriend has a very important t shirt from the band HUM . Its mid-range maroon color with a silk screen in the middle.

PROBLEM:

his aunt spilt BLEACH on it, but not on the silk screen. so now there are bleach spots around it.

QUESTION:

How can i fix / save this treasured shirt ??

ive considered re-dying but then it will still be two toned.. right??

HELPP! <3 *Kelly*

The following notebook set was made from an empty tissue box (the pages were taken from a half-used notebook that a student abandoned and asked us to throw out after a conference that I was helping to run - I wasn't about to throw such good paper out, so I kept it waiting for a time to use it, and that time came yesterday!)

[edit]: upon request, here are the posts i made about the sets i created last year:

- teddy grahams writing set
- cheerios writing set
