OK, so maybe everyone here can help me. I was in Michael's the other day, and I saw this kit. It's basically a kit where you can put objects into bottle caps, then you pour this glue stuff on it that dries clear and you get little decorative bottlecaps. What I'm wondering is where can I get a glue or sealant like this? I want to do something similar, only not with bottlecaps, but I need to know where I can find some sort of glue that I know will dry clear, almost like a plastic or something. Anyone have any ideas? I've seen something called E6000, which says it's glue and sealant, but I want to make sure it will actually work. I would like to seal a piece of bone inside something... I'm still not sure what yet.

Anyway, enought of my pitiful rambling. It's time for bed for me!

Hi, I posted a similar bag to this awhile ago, but the fabric wasn't quite the same colour scheme. Here is a paler blue one. I just love this Japanese fabric! I got it from www.reprodepot.com I also was experimenting with my self-timer on my camera!

In my baby mania I had to finish this quilt from a friend who had her baby in July.

Oops, my bad. But it is partially her fault for keeping his name a secret until after he was born. :)

this is my first real crochet project and i need a little help.

i'm making a baby blanket for my soon-to-be-born cousin. i've made a bunch of granny squares out of vanna's choice dusty rose and dusty green. they are about 2 1/2 inches (there's some inconsistency because i am learning). i want the blanket to be at least 30" x 30" and have figured out about how many to make.

my problem is that i don't know how to go about crocheting them together and making a nice border. i have vanna's choice dusty purple for this, and maybe some scraps of the rose and green.

because i'm new to crochet i need really good instructions. i've been looking around online, but i haven't found anything that makes sense for this. i can use the lion brand website for their explanation of stitches, and i've found youtube to be helpful as well.

here's a picture )

any help is much appreciated. thank you!

It's been a while since I've posted anything but I've been working all day on this and HAD to show it off! It's a tote sewed out of an old long-sleeved t-shirt I had sitting around. I got it at an Ozzy concert. The words on either side are "built to destroy" and "Zakk Wylde" (cut from the sleeves). The pictures are the logo (back of the shirt) and Zakk Wylde rocking out (front of the shirt). The lining and strap are black and white striped quilting cotton! I thought it would make a rocker-chick vibe.

so i went to fiber fest international today.
It was a lot smaller then 2 years ago when it was at the tradex in town. There were a LOT less animals. Two years ago they had all sorts of demos on sheering *sp?* and about the animals, and they had lots of demos on diffrent things. Last time i was there i learned about fulling a woven projcet and they had a few of us come up and help (i went up) and it was really cool, and they taught us a celtic song. There was also no fashon show, and all around i felt quite disapointed.

my husband took me as im in my third trimester and for the fact that im having twins i need to be watched incase something happens (i almost passed out yesterday, but was NOT going to miss fiber fest again!) and he was a GREAT husband, he went around all the stalls with me, (three times he just chimed in!) and i got him to feel the diffrent fibers, and showed him the diffrence between diffrent types of wool. He seamed quite suprised that some of the yarn that looked so pritty could feel so yucky..... (touching the rough wool would give him a feeling of pain in his teeth, like chewing on cotton)..... so i got him to touch all the pritty stuff and went around looking for the best prices.
A few time he would notice that i was looking at the same thing, and comment that it was much cheeper over there (the other side of the fiber fest)...... I think he understood why i was looking at each stall 3 or 4 times, to comparison shop and to find the best prices.

SO behind the cut is pictures of what i bought!..... Enjoy! LARGE pictures

I just wanted to share a pic of the cake I make for my son's 5th birthday party, which is tomorrow.  That's him in the userpic, by the way.  Anyhow, I used a shaped Wilton cake pan and went to town with dyed buttercream icing and edible glitter and stars.  Thanks for looking!
