SO I've been SUPER busy lately. There's a lot going on with speech [team at school] that eats up my time, & I've also been working on throwing together a handbag collection for the 2008 HANDBAG EXPO in Milwaukee. I've got four bags finished so far, but I plan on cranking a few more out. I'll post them all in a lump later. For now, here's a top I threw together from scratch that I'm in love with.

Here is my last wire weld project of the weekend.  I decided you were all sick of the crecent design so I decided to go with something new.  This one just ended up huge 2' x 1.5' and since I just would not stop with the swirls, I thought the addition of beads would make it even more gaudy than it already was so I'm leaving it as it is, naked and beadless :)
I also thought I would throw this up there, but I have a flikr account with most everything I have done over the past year or so.  If interested my screen name is eyeswideshut1976.  Your welcome to take a peek if you like :)

I am doing my son's nursery in Jungle Animals and want to hand embroider/cross stitch baby jungle animals onto the bottom of the curtains I am making for his room. I have googled my heart out and can only find patterns for machine embroidery. Does anyone know where I could get a cute jungle animal pattern from?

It's been forever and a day since I've posted here :)

I just wanted to share some of the jewelry I've been working on!

Photobucket

This is considered a chain maille box weave. A magazine that I bought ages ago taught me how to do the weave and string in the bead :)

Something wicked this way comes.... )

I have a lot more kickin stuff, just need to quit being lazy and get some good pics of them :)

I made this bag Saturday night and am in love with it. It's a great sturdy, cheap fabric that can be customized.

I did a massive write up of it on my blog if you're interested in more details! Thanks for looking.

The boyfriend and I are pretty heavily involved in scouting and his scout troop needs to make patrol flags. (The troop is broken up into patrols of about 8 kids and each patrol is represented by color or animal or whatever the kids want.) Details here: http://www.troop142bsa.org/sketchbook/Patrol%20Flag%20.pdf

The flags will be exposed to the weather on camping trips once a month, and used every week at troop meetings. The idea is that the kids will design their own flags using the materials we provide for them.

Example:

So I'm looking for a type of fabric that is durable enough to last through about a year or more of Michigan weather (rain, snow, sun, etc) and 11 - 18 year old kids playing with it every week. I am also looking for a way to draw on said fabric that will not bleed or run if wet (so markers are out.)

I was thinking Nylon or Polyester and fabric paint. Am I on the right track? What would you recommend?

I'm trying to put together an easter basket for my boyfriend, however, I'd like to put everything in something he can actually use, rather than in a basket which he'd probably have no need for. The only idea I've come up with is one of those photo storage boxes, but I'm not sure if he'd need one of those because he has a digital camera. Also, I don't have very much money. . . not very much at all. Does anyone have any inexpensive easter basket alternatives?
Thanks. :]

Yesterday I was thinking about a new crafty project to start and remembered a couple of months ago I had bought hardware for button making... so I've decided to give it a try and made some fabric buttons, that then applied to headband frames:

Polka-Dotted Red and White Buttons Headband

Yellow Buttons Headband

Pink Buttons Headband

I'm happy with the result, I think they look cute :-)

There was a post recently on making ribbon flowers.  Can anyone  point me to it and/or any other good links on ribbon roses?

Thanks!
