This was my first full-on chain maille piece :) I had the hardest time grasping the concept of 4:1 weave, until one day I was just sitting on my bed w/ a bunch of jump rings and some pliers just playing around, then *ding* i figured it out :)
( Grey sweater + Sunny day = Wonderful pics :) )
Mkay... that's all for now :) I will attempt to make up the tut for the beaded box chain necklace from yesterday's post, later tonight :)

Mar. 11th, 2008 06:39 pmSo I've been lurking around here for a long time, but never posted. I just have a question-have any of you made felt bracelets before? I bought a really cute felt bracelet today, and I love it so much, I want to make more. But I'm at a loss. How would one go about this? I understand felting, but if I felt the shape of a bracelet, will it stay that way?
Hehe...my version of t-shirt rug.
Mar. 11th, 2008 07:20 pmSo, thanks to a lovely person who posted their t-shirt rug earlier last week, I was totally inspired to make my own, though with a twist. I originally wanted to make a mat to put under my cat's litter box; and I wanted to make said rug with my ex's most prized t-shirts. Hehe. I actually made a craiglist post for it, under the "barter" section, and the post made the "best of" section...so I'm going to link to that right quick (I'm quite proud of it, heh).

And a pic!
What do you all think?

Mar. 11th, 2008 08:09 pmSo, just like every first time poster admits ... I have been TOTALLY STALKING YOU GUYS FOR LIKE TWO MONTHS. and checking every day to look at your pretty things :] And, uh, sorry. But I really kind of don't get computers in the least bit.So I made this account a few minutes ago. ( DO LJ CUTS WORK? )
Scarves & Cases
Mar. 11th, 2008 09:53 pmI learned how to knit from my grandmother when I was a child, and more recently taught myself after watching my ex-roommate from last year. Here are the last three projects I've completed:
This is a case I knit for my Nintendo DS. I got the idea from a Klutz Knitting book pattern for sunglasses, which I found fit my DS, but a little too loosely. I also sewed a fabric lining into the case and made it drawstring so the DS wouldn't slide out too easily.
Two scarves I knitted and completed. The bottom one was the first scarf I've ever made (and completed), and turned out too plain, but with the yarn there were certain limitations.
The top scarf I recently finished. It's knit from bamboo fiber yarn, and I got the pattern from a knitting pattern book. The yarn consists of different dye lots, so the two ends take on a very subtle fade effect.

They are both handmade and created with acrylic yarn, fiberfill, and safety eyes. I made them from my own pattern.
( Behind the Cut... )
Don't you love handmade? You do exactly the same thing each time and they both come out slightly different! ^_^
