While yard saling last weekend, I came upon a box of random goodies. Multiple bags of old jewelry and other findings for a quarter apiece. Sweet.

Inside one of the bags were these two cloth hearts. They looked like the kind you stick inside a build-a-bear. "What am I going to do with these" I asked myself.

and then, I wore my "I ♥ my geek" t-shirt and realized I needed accessories for that shirt. And so, I made earrings. They're simple and easy, but I like them.

I was wondering if anyone had any tutorials to make a decorate type of box that could be placed in an area such as a living room or bedroom to hide all those nasty wires that get scattered around from the tv and such? My boyfriend is in the process of decorating his apartment and I thought I'd help come up with a idea on how to help him out. :)
Any help would be appreciated!

My dad won't be in the States for Fathers' Day so I'm going to send this card to him. I originally got the idea b/c I'm going to my future house to celebrate fathers' day with my fiance's family (and also his birthday-eeek, I'm bad, I didn't make him anything.. I'll fix that! lol). But I made my dad and future father-in-law cards.

comments always appreciated! :o)

Tea Towels

Have any of you painted on tea towels? I did this a couple of times when I was a kid, but I don't really know what kind of paint to get now. I think it's like a ball point paint pen, but I could be wrong.

I know that the finished tea towel almost looks dyed, like the paint isn't a layer on top of the towel. The paint leaves it easy to fold and it's washable too.

If anyone has any information on how to do this and what materials to use, I would be ever so grateful!
