i also spent a lot of time making a leaf of lorien cane but i overshot my expertise and it came out kinda funky. however, there's still hope for it because i didn't finish slicing it up. it might look better further down the cane. the cross button on the nintendo controllers almost made me see double. oy. they are TINY. like 1/4" across. i'm going to make them into earrings. i've heard there's 500 & 600 level sandpapers that i can use on baked clay to smooth out the surfaces. i need to get some to get rid of the fingerprints and little nail dents. i have no idea what to do with the peacock feathers. maybe i'll decorate an altoid tin. my mom probably has dozens; she eats those things like candy.

this was also my first run using my craft dedicated toaster oven. lucky for me, i had an oven thermometer handy and got the right temp cos the dial is funky and doesn't read right.

Hey everyone! This is my first post here, I hope I'm following the rules.

So it takes me forever to make things, and I've been in a bit of a Christmas-y mood (don't ask) so I decided to start work on my Christmas cards for the year.
This is my first attempt at cardmaking, but I like a bunch of them so far.

it's beginning to look a lot like ... summer? )

So I've finished 16, with about 4 to go. Now I just hope it doesn't take me 2 years to finish them (it took me 2 years to make a scarf that really only took a total of 20 hours).
So thanks for looking, and if you have any comments or suggestions, let me know!

(and oh yeah, that is our christmas tablecloth still up, oops :-x )

Allright gals and guys...I have a question for you. I'm playing a couple different shows this weekend, and since my first release comes out on Monday I wanted to pass out some CD's at the events to kind of celebrate. I want to make the cases though (I'll just be using CDR's to pass out), and I don't really know where to start. What are some crafty awesome ways to make cd cases? I was thinking maybe cardstock lined in some kind of fabric with a button? What do you think....?

What does one do when they can't find a clothespin bag in any store near them? They buy about a dollars worth of heavy canvas and whip one up in about 10 minutes on the sewing machine. Actually, I purchased 1/2 yard of the canvas which came to about $2.50 and it made two of these bags. I can't believe these are so hard to find in stores, especially with everyone going "green" these days and hanging their laundry out.

i started on stay puft and slimer last nite and couldn't fall asleep because i was so excited and thinking of all the rest of the ghostbuster things i could make. today i received a sign from the universe that i needed to finish the ghostbuster series. small details make me crazy so i decided not to try to make the proton pack today. or any day soon. my eyes start crossing just thinking about it. i really wanted to make a gozer but i don't have the right colors for him.

check it out!

i said i wasn't going to do tiny desserts because its so trendy and i hate trendy stuff, but they're so fun! my mom came over while i was making the cakes and she started laughing too. polymer clay is like moldable, bakeable sunshine. i might like polymer clay more than i like boys....
