So I added this entry on stamp-carving to my memories a couple of weeks ago, but just now got around to trying it.

my three stamps

Not bad for a first try? They are supposed to be charmingly roughhewn, or at least that's my story, and I am sticking to it.

I made these Tetris charms for a friend’s birthday, they will be made into an earring set before they are given but this is the crafty bit so her they are!

She frequents this community so the surprise is ruined but since they are a month late I think that’s okay; HAPPY SUPER BELATED BIRTHDAY CINDY!

They are made from polymer clay.

Screen printing and embroidered tea towels seem really popular. Can you buy plain ones in bulk online? Or is everyone making their own? I'm intrigued as I do actually need some tea towels!

Pre-trimming threads and ironing, but here is my most recent quilt, finished just in time for a friend's wedding on Saturday:

I based it on a lovely quilt I saw in New Zealand Quilter magazine... unfortunately I didn't copy down the artist's name. Sorry, karma!

Could somebody please help me solve the mystery of threading the bobbin case?

This has always my downfall with sewing machines - threading the bobbin case.

I've been looking for help on the webz but while winding the bobbin is something every site is happy to walk you through, actually threading the weird fiddly little bobbin case is left out. Winding the bobbin is easy, threading the bobbin case is not, and I can't find any help with that. So I'm hoping that some sewing machine guru might be able to explain to me what I'm doing wrong.

Specifically the issue is this: [personal profile] hestia )

For my last project with my class, I had them create a page for an encyclopedia about their home country (which happened to be the country I was teaching in). The stuff they created is terrific, and I want to have it bound into a book.

Google has a lot of places I can call for estimates re: custom projects (I have about 120 pieces of A4 size paper), but I was wondering if anyone had personal experience with bookbinding businesses, good or bad. Also, any idea of what I should be paying for a project like this? I'm sure it's doable myself, but I really want this to last, and I'd rather not risk messing up.

Any suggestions/feedback would be appreciated. TIA!

Hi!
So, i just bought some goth pants (pretty much these) at salvation army for my boyfriend. (i got them $1!!they usually sell for $50!!) Only problem is, the pants are a size large, and my fella wears an extra large. Im thinking i need to add about 3-4 inches at the waist. I was thinking of adding gussets, like, upsidedown triangles at the sides of the waist, and have them taper down. But ive never done this before. can anyone help?
  Thanks so much!
