I decided to take the NaCraMaMo challenges, and it's been really good for my craft productivity.
One of the last times I saw
july17_hm post about beaded wire fish, I decided I had to do something like that. I looked at the tutorial (thanks
july17_hm for doing that!) and it looked like something I could do. I'm not really into fish though.
I got some mixed clear rainbow and brown rainbow seed beads in a giveaway that I just knew I needed to make a cross from. The first method I tried didn't work, so I decided to see if the
july17_hm method would work for this. It did, sort of. It ended up being much more free-form because I used many different shapes for the bigger beads.
The results:
( One more under the cut )I learned a few things:
- I need either a stiffer base wire, or I need to harden the wire before adding the beads to it. The base wire was too flexible.
- I need to use a smaller gauge wire to add the beads. I used 24 gauge, as it was what I had around, but I really needed to use something smaller.
