Fabric question

My friend needs white fabric that looks opaque from a distance, but you can see through it when used in a mask (I know it's been used in many mass produced costumes). Does anyone know the name of this fabric and where she can get it?

1st time soapmaking

I recently got into the idea of making soap and I am a little scared by the process. Can anyone suggest a beginner's how-to tutorial for me? I read this blog all the time, but they are so good, they are too advanced for me! http://soap-queen.blogspot.com/ (I mean, look at the pirate soap if you scroll down! Whoa!). Do you think melt-and-pour is the easiest way? What would you suggest for the next step? I want to take baby steps, I am a little afraid of chemicals. I think if I gradually work up to them, I will be okay. What do you all you soapers think?

Post Post Post Modern: Green Lady Luck Dress

Sassy Green Lady-Luck Dress for a friend of mine for her "halloween costume that she can wear again". I will have to make one similar for me, next. Though this one fits nicely -- its' going to be even more utterly fabulous on her... and It's too durned fabulous not to want one for myself.

Its made of a ton of different types of spandex/ lycra/stretch and is girdled to all hell... I'm really pleased (obviously) with the way it turned out.
