Hello all! I'm making mermaid tail for Halloween and I'm attempting to sew on a sequined elastic waistband on it. I am scared and want advice/how-to from y'all. I searched the memories, but didn't find anything.

Thank you in advance!

Okay, I need help finding a good catsuit pattern for - what else? - Julia from Cowboy Bebop. I've successfully made catsuit patterns before, but I moved recently and threw them all away like a moron. And I *really* dont' want to go through the tedium of making another patterns, so - does anyone know of a good, full-length catsuit pattern?? With sleeves and a collar, ideally?

TIA :)

Hello all,

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while (haven't been able to really "get my craft on" recently).

I have a question for those of you gamer-crafters out there:

I'd like to make or modify some sort of professional (read: office appropriate?) -looking nintendo DS case for my bf for christmas, since he's recently expressed concern about the fact that when he brings his DS on his commute, or into stores, he gets bad customer service and stares (we're both fresh out of college, so I guess he looks young enough that he could still be mistaken for a teenager). I've been trying to think of a way to either find a basic, less-expensive DS case and modify it to "disguise" it a bit (i.e. make it look more like an iphone or a PDA case), or to create one myself - the idea being to make his DS look a little less like a toy at first glance. I briefly thought about trying to find one that was leather, but he doesn't eat red meat for ethical/environmental reasons, so cow hides aren't exactly the best option, heh. Any suggestions of materials / things I should look for / geek-chic ways to decorate it that would be subtle enough to be incorporated into a sleeker, more grown-up-looking design?

And so it isn't text-only:

"Quilt"

Yay! I am finally done!!! This is the first craft project I have posted here, and my first ever attempt at a "quilt" (I use this term loosly becuase it is really just a patchwork blanket, there isn't really any quilting). I made this for a friend who is expecting a baby girl mid-December. I started it when she first found out she was expecting so it's been a long time in the making! I was hand-stitching it when I started, but then soon realized that it would take me a couple years at that pace so I ran out and bought a cheap little sewing machine. I had no idea how to do the corners, so they look horrible, but hopefully the baby will look past that! lol
This is a close up, I used buttons to secure the front to the batting and back piece of fabric (which I don't have a pic of, but it is the same as the trim I used)

i'm getting married on sunday!

i made my jewellery, my maid of honors jewellery, the best womans, the flowergirls, the invitations, a gazillion thank you cards, my fiancees kilt, am half way though the cake, puff pastry appetizers for after, and am now completely exhausted.

i don't have pics of everything yet, but under the cut is all the jewellery, some of it on and some arty shots after i discovered that the crystals made rainbows.

I was looking around Etsy and I saw most of these things seemed obscenely overpriced, so just out of curiousity I decided to make my own hair flowers )

My mom's birthday is next week and I'm pretty sure if I mail this card to her tomorrow then it'll be late but... its the thought that counts. :D I really do wish I could see her for her birthday- She lives in Qatar with my dad and brother.

I used the October Commit2Paper kit... I just loved the colors and I think my mom will like them too.
