Hey Monsters and Ghouls!

This Hallowe'en (or Birthdayween!) I will be going as Malice in Wonderland! I've finished all the sewing parts of my costume, but have one last issue. I would like to put some "blood" on the apron of my costume, however, I would like to be able to wash it out after Hallowe'en if at all possible. I thought of washable markers, but thought they might be too... marker-y. Any suggestions? Yes, there will be photos when all is done! Thanks in advance!

Long time lurker I finally get around to posting! I decided to make Mexican Sugar Skulls for the first time this year. I am pretty stoked on the outcome.

(x-posted)

Happy halloween! I went low-tech and cheap (~$4 including shirt) this year. I'm 5 1/2 months pregnant, so I tried to use my belly. I think it would have looked better if I were further along, for a real bug-eyed look, but whatever. Made with felt, eye shadow (ironically), sharpie, and my new (old) sewing machine.

Hi! I got crafty today and made something I am actually REALLY proud of. It didn't screw up at all...well compared to other projects. LOL.

I present to you all...

Chinese jacket and kimono inspired top with skirt. On a person the obi inspired sash sits more like an obi but isn't wrapped around the body but could be if someone wanted to.
The body of the top is periwinkle  and the dark blue parts are  quite stunning  in the right light. You can see off to the left  on the sash where the blue is almost radiant.  That is the colour when the right light hits it.
The skirt has a floral pattern on it made wih tiny round beads glued on. (I did not do that, the fabric came that way)
Ribbon trim and voila! My new outfit.  :)

Thanks for looking.

hi grrls,
i have a question.
i wanna make felt brooches (something of that sort http://www.myperennial.com/images/accessories/ind_accessories/FELT%20BROOCH%205.jpg)
but i don't know what to use to glue the layers together. i tried super glue but it won't work because it kinda bleeds through (if you know what i mean?) and hence makes stains on the felt :(

i tried hand sewing but my yarn is really bad quality and i'm not the best hand sewer...

does anyone have any ideas?

thanks a lot!

A couple weeks ago I asked for help coming up with a cheap and easy costume for my two month old son. I got a lot of great suggestions, and I was planning to make him a bacon and eggs costume. I talked to my mom about these ideas, and she had one of her own. She suggested that I make him a sheriff costume, since his name is Marshall. Get it? I loved that idea, so that's what I did!

there's a new marshall in town )

Thanks for everyone's help!

**Edit: Thanks, everyone, for the sweet comments!
