So much to share today!!
I have crafted quite a few nifty things in the past few months, but I haven't found the time to share them.
Until now.
Of course it's four-thirty in the morning the day before an exam. What else should I be doing? (Image heavy) )

I will make another big post after Christmas - there will be lots of handmade goodness.
Thanks for looking!!

I see a lot of 'no-sew fleece blankets' and I was wondering if all fleece is no-sew when it comes to making blankets, or just certain kinds. Probably a dumb question, I know, lol, but neither my mom or I have ever worked with fleece before and she's making blankets with a some of her friends for Walter Reed hospital. She's already bought the fabric, and had never heard of 'no-sew blankets' until I mentioned it at dinner. Now she's worried she doesn't have the right fabric. Oops.

So, can I set her mind at ease that her fabric okay?

Well, this is the first made-from-scratch shirt I've made since I was probably ten. I figured out a pattern myself form a picture of a shirt I liked on the internet. My question is: The neck kind of right against my throat and the "boatneck" is a little too wide, showing my bra straps. How can I fix both these problems but still be able to fit my head through it. I have dreadlocks, so my head is kind of large with all that hair. I was thinking that I could cut a little notch in the front and sew around that, but I don't think that would generally fit in with the style of the shirt.
If anyone is interested. My rough pattern is (adult small-ish) basically t-shaped. Pattern and pics under the cut.

We decorated the Christmas tree last night. I wanted to take some close-up pictures of the beautifully intricate, handmade holiday decorations that Mike inherited from his grandmother. Some of them are dragtabulous! They are just really over the top with the sequins and beads! But I love how they all catch the tree lights. Click on the tree pic for a slideshow of some of the fun ones!

Ever since I made my first cushion like this, I've continued playing around with the idea of inverted silhouettes.

So here's my latest:
