ever tried to make a rolled hem without a serger? it's a huge pain in the ass. my right thumb is seriously going to be one giant lump of scar tissue.

on that note, i'm buying a damn serger. enough is enough. so, i'm looking for suggestions and warnings. have a serger that you absolutely love? got a horror story about one that you had that was complete crap? please share. i've never owned one before, so i'm looking for something relatively inexpensive just in case it proves to be too complicated for me to master.

and, so my post is more than just a plea for help, here's something beady. )

thanks for reading and looking and i appreciate the help in advance.

living for inspiration,
Ophelia

Last year, my aunt gave me some Star Wars fabric - she had found it in a remnant bin. I couldn't decide what to do with it - it was a small piece, too small for clothing, but I didn't want to cut up the pictures. So, just now, I made a big pleated bag.

I saw one of these non stick cookie tins at Walmart, and I was breifly thinking for a moment about buying them to make plaster of paris molds out of, or wax candles. My only question would be how would I get the molds out after they're done, since this pan is hard and inflexible.

I live in the north (Yukon, Canada) most of the time and people always ask me to bring back wierd things for them.  So my brother asked for something 'old or dead' for xmas.  So I brought back a snow rabbit fur that I got at the Trading Post (a trapper and hunter's store) and am now at a loss as to what to do with it.  It looks like a block of furry white fabric.

Any ideas?  I'm open to anything...

Thanks.

I made a Little Red Riding Wolf. He's about 20 inches tall, slightly rabid with jointed arms and legs and safety eyes.

I dunno how tasteless this is or not, but if you could take two seconds vote for this pretty wolfie here, you could help win me a scholarship.
